8.1. ESU7 Representatives
Discussion:
Dan Ellsworth presented the different services that the ESU7 offers school districts, as well as the dollars saved by using the services. Services planned verses services accessed were presented.

8.2. Boone Central Recognitions
Discussion:
Knott- Thanks to Justin Frey, Jordan and all beef sponsors. 9 beef donors, 12+ business sponsors and Albion Locker. Thank you to the kitchen staff and others for coordinating the appreciation supper. Roberts- Bus drivers; always a hard time of year on the roads...somebody has to make the decision and our team does a great job and makes informed decisions. Very responsible group and we are lucky to have them. Frey- Thank you to Jordan and the kitchen staff for putting on the Prime Rib appreciation dinner for the local donors. Thank you to the sponsors who have donated beef. Stuhr- Shout out to all the volunteer coaches who come in and help out with our kids, they take time out of their schedule to help out and it is very much appreciated. Fogleman- Thank you to the staff who came in to do the meal for our beef sponsors. To come in on a weekend and serve a delicious meal (I hear) is greatly appreciated. Rolf- Custodial staff for all they are doing to prepare and cleanup from our winter activities. I appreciate all the work they do. A specific shout out to Rod Stuhr, who is doing a great job and makes kids feel special. McDonald- The week of January 26, 2025 serves as School Board Recognition Week in Nebraska. Thank you to our locally elected volunteers who make up the Boone Central Board of Education. Through your leadership, innovation, vision and engagement, you make BCPS a better place to be. Larsen- Mrs. Chelsea Gaunt and Nurse Jen Molt for their work to successfully see 6 students through the inaugural CNA Class here at Boone Central. Through the cooperation of these two individuals as well as the partnership with the Boone County Health Center and Central Community College in Columbus, all 6 students in this inaugural class successfully completed their certification tests at the end of last semester. Well done to all!! Kayton- I would like to recognize our paraeducators in the elementary. They are always willing to step up and help out wherever needed. I would also like to recognize Licia Kunzman who retired December 31st after giving Boone Central 30 years of service! Thank you, Licia! |

8.3. Continuous School Improvement
Discussion:
We just finished up winter testing. Our MTSS leadership team has taken time to look at all elementary students' data! We had a ton of growth in all areas. We honored 41 students for scoring 90% or above nationally in reading/math on their winter MAPs tests. |

8.4. Board Reports
Discussion:
Preschool Advisory Committee - Preschool Attendance policy has been updated to reflect the revised four-year preschool program, including the requirement to pay for school lunches and the age cutoff date. Three-year olds on IEPs will be served outside the building.
Transportation Committee - Truck Center invoices for the last 12 months has been presented to the Board. Bus #08 will be traded in when we get the new bus, delivery date is undetermined. Finance Committee - Great Plaines State Bank has provided an interest rate for moving an account there. A review of rates at the depository institutions is suggested. The Board plans on inquiring on an annual basis. |

8.5. Superintendent Report
Discussion:
Grounds and Maintenance report has been provided by Lowell, will hold a Facilities Committee to discuss upcoming projects.
Finance Committee will begin to look at wages for the support staff in the coming weeks. Dr. McDonald discuss the year to date receipts and expenditures. Facilities Committee will reach out to other schools to tour their ag shop facilities. |

8.6. Principal & AD Reports
Discussion:
Larsen- Second Semester is off and running. Had a positive 1st Semester, a lot of student accomplishments and achievements! Discussions of partnering with CCC for an additional class next year; mechatronics, electronics and automation, 4 semester classes (over 2 years), up to 12 Dual-Credits available, facilitated by Mr. Korte. Staff Attended the PD Day in Columbus on first day back, positive comments regarding the event. Students and staff are back into the swing of things! Student Teacher for second semester, Andrew Jacobsen (UNK) with Mr. Zoucha - HS Social Studies. Student Teacher lined up for next year as well, coming to us from UNL, will be with Mrs. Hitchler
Curry- AQuESTT breakdown and explanation of how our school is rated. Community Coffee will be towards the end of the month. I am planning to bring some students to highlight our middle school speech team. Second Quarter report cards will be mailed out this week. Clayton Anderson's visit was a success. TeamMates continues to be a benefit to our students. BCTM donated $992 worth of books to our vending machine for this semester. BCTM is looking for 10 more mentors! Our student teacher, Miss Morris, is going to serve as a long-term maternity sub for Mrs. Wiese soon. She has accepted a teaching position in South Dakota for next year. Our PBIS team also presented in Columbus on the steps they have taken to improve our PBIS team and our systems. After that, we have had 2 schools reach out to us and are coming here to meet with the team so we can help them with the systems and procedures. To piggyback off of Mr. Larsen, the elementary school will have a practicum student this semester for 67 hours- splitting time between PK-3rd grade classrooms. We also have a student lined up for the fall semester with Mrs. Gragert in first grade. |
