II. Hearing on Americanism
Discussion:
This is an annual hearing. The committee met and reviewed the curriculum and discussed recommendations from previous meetings. Dr. Lenihan confirmed that the following patriotic themes are covered during Social Studies classes: George Washington's birthday, Abraham Lincoln's birthday, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr's birthday, Native American Heritage Day, Constitution Day, Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and Thanksgiving Day.
