1. Call to Order and Announce Open Meetings Act Verification
Discussion:
President Steve Vyhnalek called the meeting to order at 8:00 with all board members present. Also present are Superintendent Daryl Schrunk, Principal Adrian Allen and Linda Woolsey.

Discussion:
Guests include Jeana Scholz, Keegan Sholty, Nicole Wetjen and Karma Ridpath.

3.1. Presentation by Keegan Sholty (CRAVE)
Discussion:
Keegan Sholty presented information on the CRAVE (Career Readiness and Vocational Education) program, which he attended this year. There were various team building exercises, as well as career work experiences. Keegan worked in the SCC cafeteria. He has achieved his high school diploma with this program. Also representing CRAVE was Nicole Wetjen.

3.2. Presentation by Mrs. Ridpath
Discussion:
Our Title 1 educator, Karma Ridpath presented information on the Title 1 program at Dorchester. Several policies were reviewed - #5057 - Parent and Family Engagement Policy and #5014 - Homeless Students. Title 1 participation started this year with 16 students in reading and ended with 24 students. For math participation, 6 students started in Title 1 with 9 at the end of the school year. Many students are monitored in both reading and math for possible additional instruction. Karma reviewed the Nebraska Reading Improvement Act. Dorchester started using the MAP Reading Fluency Assessment with students. Intervention training will be attended by several teachers and paras over the summer.

7.1. Principal's Report
Discussion:
Principal Allen presented information on the results of the State Journalism medalists. The elementary spring concert was held on April 25th. Some teacher observations were shared. We have two state track qualifiers, Lena Zahourek and Jacee Zoubek. Upcoming events - Elementary Field Day on May 15th, State Track on May 17th & 18th, Excellence Rally on May 21st and Community Clean up on May 22nd.

7.2. Superintendent's Report
Discussion:
Superintendent Schrunk presented information on vehicle replacement plans and summer improvement projects. We are advertising for a Preschool Para for the 2019-2020 school year. Mr. Schrunk reviewed the results of the recent Preschool Advisory Committee meeting held on April 17th. Extra duty assignments are being reviewed.

Discussion:
Mr. Schrunk presented policies #4035 - Classified Staff Defined, #4036 - Employment of Classified Staff and #4038 - Professional Boundaries. No changes were recommended.
