1. Call to Order and Announce Open Meetings Act Verification
Discussion:
The December board meeting was called to order by President Steve Vyhnalek at 8:08 pm following the High School Christmas concert with all members present. President Vyhnalek confirmed the advance notice to the public of the meeting and agenda. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

7.1. Principal's Report
Discussion:
Mr. Wiese presented information on the progress of formal observations of teachers this semester. The winter sports seasons have begun. The One-Act play finished sixth out of eight at the district contest. However, they had 9 actors receive outstanding acting awards. Winter MAP testing is currently being done. The activity for the Longhorn Line-Up was focused on 'responsibility' in December. The DPS staff is celebrating 12 days of Holiday Cheer to boost morale as we end the semester. Upcoming events will be Excellence Rallies for Elementary and High School and the Cohort Day at Shickley on January 4th. Classes begin with students on January 5th.

Discussion:
Mr. Schrunk presented information from the 2021 Legislative Preview he attended on December 8th. This included news on upcoming bills and budget proposals.

8.1. Review Board of Education Policies #3002, #3004-3010, and #6003.
Discussion:
Mr. Schrunk reviewed policies #3002-Deposits; #3004-Purchasing; #3005-School Activities Fund; #3006-Controlling Receipts; #3007-Review of Bills; #3008-Gifts, Grants, Bequests; #3009-Audit; #3010-Insurance and #6003 - Instructional Program. No changes are necessary at this time.

8.2. Review the Exit Report from our External Visit which was on Wednesday, November 10.
Discussion:
Mr. Schrunk reviewed the Exit Report findings from our External Visit held on November 10th. Next steps will be developing our 5-year plan to address their findings.

8.3. Discuss and review "Safe Return to Learn Plan" including "Continuity of Services" and "Use of Funds".
Discussion:
A discussion was held on the "Safe Return to Learn Plan" for ESSER funding. How Dorchester is using these funds was reviewed. This information is located on the school website. No public comment was received.

8.4. Review NASB State Conference.
Discussion:
Mrs. Schweitzer and Mrs. Lehr reviewed information from sessions they attended at the NASB State Conference held November 17-19 in Omaha. Mr. Schrunk shared insights for the sessions he attended. This included additional information on legislative bills, teacher shortages, TEEOSA budgeting and tax limits, among other topics.

THE SALINE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE AND DORCHESTER PUBLIC SCHOOLS FOR SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER FOR 2022.

9.4. Consider Approving the District's 2022-2023 Negotiated Agreement with the Certificated Staff.

Discussion:
Mr. Schrunk presented the 2022-2023 negotiated agreement and salary schedule, which was completed between the Board negotiations committee and the teachers' group.

Mr. Schrunk presented the bid from Midwest Tennis & Track for the surfacing of the track area. This will be paid through the General Fund. The bid for the shed was received from BZ Construction, which would be paid from the Special Building Fund.
