1. Call to Order and Announce Open Meetings Act Verification
Discussion:
The February board meeting was called to order by President Steve Vyhnalek at 7:00 pm with all board members present. President Vyhnalek confirmed the advance notice to the public of the meeting and agenda. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Discussion:
Other school personnel present are Superintendent Daryl Schrunk, Principal Jake Wiese and Linda Woolsey.

7.1. Principal's Report
Discussion:
Principal Wiese reviewed the busy basketball and wrestling schedules in the past several weeks. Mr. Wiese attended the ESU6 Principal Network on February 2nd. Upcoming events include Parent-Teacher Conferences on Feb. 10th; no school Feb. 11th and early release on Feb. 18th for staff P.D. Dorchester will host the CRC Quiz Bowl on Feb. 16th with no school for K-8 and a noon release for 9-12. On Feb. 21, Heidi Farmer will assist with Reading Coaching and Feb 28, Amber Vlasnik will review our Math Curriculum. Spring sports practices will begin Feb. 28th. March 4 and 11 are no school days. The 3rd quarter will end on March 10th.

7.2. Superintendent's Report
Discussion:
Superintendent Schrunk reviewed information on recent legislative updates. Mr. Schrunk reviewed a draft of the State Aid funding for the 2022-2023 school year. He will be attending the NRCSA Legislative Forum on Feb. 22nd. Mr. Schrunk presented information on interest shown in sanctioning a Girls Wrestling team for next year. Board members are to consider this for further action in coming months.

8.1. Review Board of Education Policies #3021, 3022, 3023, 3028, 3029, 3033, 3034, 3036, 3039, and 3040.
Discussion:
Mr. Schrunk reviewed policies #3021-Community School, #3022-Volunteers, #3023-Electronic Records Management, #3028-Sex Offenders, #3029-Resolution of Conflicts Between Parents, #3033-Lending Texbooks to Children Enrolled in Private Schools, #3034-Copying Fees for School District Records, #3036-Purchasing Card, #3039-Threat Assessment and Response, and #3040-School Safety and Security. No changes are necessary at this time.

8.2. Review "Placement on Salary Schedule" from Dorchester Negotiations Agreement.
Discussion:
Mr. Schrunk and the DEA have discussed the placement of any new hires on our salary schedule based on their degree. Additional meetings between the negotiations committee and the DEA may be necessary to further clarify placement of new hires in the future. This could also be included in the contract for 2023-2024.

Discussion:
Mr. Schrunk and Mr. Wiese presented evidence of Dorchester's multicultural topics taught in all classrooms. The information provided indicates we have met the State Statute.

Discussion:
Mr. Schrunk reviewed the current resolution to close the option enrollment for Special Education and English Learning for the 2022-2023 school year.

Discussion:
According to the criteria regarding when the board receives more applications for voluntary separation than it approved is outlined in Policy #4099--Early Retirement Incentive Program - ERIP, here is the order:
1) Diane Houdek 2) Theresa Johnson Alternate = Deb Burrows Mr. Schrunk reviewed the criteria for ERIP approved at the December 2021 board meeting. The teachers approved for the Early Retirement Incentive Program may revoke their agreement for a period of seven (7) days following its execution. |
