Discussion:  LB974 - Revenue Committee - Change taxation and school funding provisions.  
LR300CA - Senator Erdman -  Constitutional amendment to prohibit all forms of taxation other than a consumption tax
does away with sales tax and put in place a consumption tax.
Important that they pass a bill on property taxes this year because of being an election year.  They will examine the school finance system and suggest changes into the formula.  
LB1073 - DeBoer - Create the School Financing Review Commission, add basic funding aid, and change adjusted valuations, the local effort rate, and certification dates. They will examine the school finance system and suggest changes into the formula.  
LB998 - Murman - Require behavioral awareness and intervention training and points of contact, transfer funds, and change the Tax Equity and Educational Opportunities Support Act.  Hearing was well attended.  ESUs are the best solution for this training.  
LB920 - Groene - Change provisions for the distribution of lottery funds used for education, transfer powers and duties, and create new funds
LB839 - Wishart - Recognize American Sign Language and provide for the teaching of American Sign Language in schools (monitoring)
LB965 - McDonnell - Establish a language assessment program for children who are deaf or hard of hearing (monitoring)
LB789 - Slama - Change school bus stop signal arm violation provisions 
LB753 - Blood - Adopt the Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology Interstate Compact.  This has had hearing.  Low fiscal note.  This is a ten state compact. (monitoring)
LB147 - Groene - Change the Student Discipline Act to provide for use by a teacher or administrator of necessary physical contact or physical restraint and provide procedures and grounds for removal from a class in response to student behavior.  Includes Administrators, counselor, nurses, and paraprofessional, may offer to cafeteria, bus drivers.  Only 20 people allowed in skills training and 10 in the physical skills. 
LB1066 - Erdman - Change provisions for modifying school district boundaries.  This bill will make it easier to change school boundaries by moving crop boundaries.  
LB1131 - Groene - Change provisions relating to education.  ESUs are mentioned throughout this bill.  100 page bill.  
LB759 - Kolterman - Require consultation with school districts regarding placement of children.  (Health and Human Services)
