3.1. Legislative Update (Bromm & Associates and NCSA)

Discussion:
Joselyn, Bromm and Associates was present to discuss day 53 of legislative session. Budget is advancing. LB 1103 - Foundation Bill - trying to revive this bill. Possibly included on another bill. LB 998 - Walz mental health bill is on select funding. The public funding has been amended out of the bill. Should be heard sometime this week. LB1069 Braesch has also been revived. LB 1081 - is advancing-general clean up bill, this includes the 3rd grade reading bill. The summer school requirement is still within the bill but hours requirement has been removed. Have to offer summer school but can't require students to show up. LB295 and LB640 has stalled. LR - Interim studies - about 15 (guns in schools, school financing, etc.) Meet sometime soon to discuss the interim studies. Erdmans resolution for tax cuts has enough legs to get on the ballots. There will be a coalition group to help campaign against the bill.
