3.1. Nebraska Systems of Care (NeSOC)

Nathan Busch was present for NESOC. They ahve been working around service development. In the Omaha Public Schools and Project Harmony Parents and Child together (PAC), this is an in home support system. Mobile use crisis response service program, 70% of students remain in home. The average age is 14 years old for students in program. North Platte working with divdision of Family Serivce and North Platte Schools Family Centered Treament (FCT), successful program. All partners are working together to move program forward. This program wraps around the family and supports them staying together. Scottsbluff has put in place an intensive support system in place for support after hours. Community level have community response, working with families to provide behavioral health support - therapy services, transportation to and from, behavior health, treament, medication, etc. They are increasing the behacioral health services and treatment for sevices. They will begin working on an anti-sigma - "we are not our label" to work with challenge of their special needs (behavioral, mental, etc.) Continue to build relationship with schools and commiunities. Utilize cluster base planning, a way to look at children not based on diagnosis but on the life events that have led to the diagnosis. Google BHCEN Systems of Care and go from there, good materials to share.

3.2. NDE Special Education Update

Steve Milliken and Greg Prohaska, NDE were present to give updates. MTSS Conference just finish. They had close to 800 participants. They received excellent feedback on the conference. NASES incoming President is Terry Houlton. NASES and NDE meeting will be combined into one. Collaboratively NDE will spend a day with new directors and they will do a statewide call/meeting/training. They are creating a contact information form, with expertise on what each person's area. NDE will be hosting the national NASBSE on October 7-9, 2018, in Omaha. Award Cermony to be held at Laurentzen Gardens.

3.3. Behavioral Health

Discussion:
Committee Chair shared that the NE School Mental Health Conference June 11-12th, Younes Center. There will be a call for papers, in January. Block of rooms. Slogan: Advancing HOPE. (Health Opportunities Partnership and Opportunity) National Conference is in Las Vegas oon October 11-13, 2018. Senator Walz wants to know insterest in getting something else put through legislation. Service Units are moving forward on their own at hiring personnel. Work out an opportunity that she can visits with thos ESUs/schools that have a program in place.

3.4. Project Para Update

Steve Milliken and David Ludwig discussed the possibility of ESUCC to take over the Project Para. Staff will be retiring and looking to keep Project Para Board decided to contact ESUCC to possibly take over this project. This grant is about $125,000 project. They hold a Para Conference, online para training, website, etc. The project is good for this year. The Conference will be on October 10, 2018. We would apply for the grant prior to the 2019-2020, begin discussing in the Spring.

3.5. Innovative Grant SRS Update

SRS had a majority update on August 7, 2018. Working on fixing things that have come in since that upgrade. Increasing developers to get forms completed by the end of year. They will continue to roll out enhancements - smaller more frequently.
