Discussion:  The Board reviewed and discussed the following: - The mission of the Board and Administration - The history of the school building, including the 1954, 1966, 1978, and 2008 additions - The electrical, mechanical, safety, and health concerns of the 1954 kitchen and solutions - The goals and basic objective for considering the kitchen renovation - The proposed design and renovation plans for the kitchen - The environment, safety, and financial benefits of the renovating - The renovation timeline - The LPS Lunch Program as a whole. The Board and Administration plan to review the program, nutritional guidelines, requirements, and delivery with an emphasis on providing the best possible meals, meeting and exceeding current nutritional guidelines, and ensuring that our students have access to healthy foods at appropriate times during the school day
