1. Milford Public Schools Board of Education Information
More Information:
Mission Statement - Milford Public Schools will prepare all students to be successful citizens: Our Mission is fulfilled when all students read with comprehension, speak and write clearly, compute accurately, reason logically, understand and appreciate the fine arts, apply suitable strategies and habits of mind to solve problems, utilize technology to communicate and to understand information and behave morally.
This agenda contains a list of subjects known at the time of its distribution. A copy of the agenda reflecting any changes will be available for public inspection during normal business hours in the District Office. Except for items of an emergency nature, the agenda shall not be altered later than twenty-four hours before the meeting. The Board reserves the right to alter the order of items, as it deems necessary. |

This is the public’s opportunity to speak to items on the agenda. This is also the public’s opportunity to speak to any topic concerning the school district – since it is not an agenda item the board cannot discuss or take action on the matter at this time. Future discussion can be requested as an agenda item. To be recognized, all participants must complete the Request to Address the Milford Board of Education Form. No complaints regarding specific staff members will be heard during a public meeting. The District has established separate procedures for complaints against individual employees. Discussion:
Elementary Principal: Mrs. Hartman discussed the end of the year 6th grade slide show and the elementary e-learning.
Secondary Principal: Mr. Mowinkel shared that the 1995 MHS football team has been slected as a "Silver Anniversary"team. He recognized junior/senior high student achievements. He discussed the senior zoom meetings and a virtual honor's night. Director of Learning: Dr. Kubicek shared the list of students below passing at the junior/senior high has decreased significantly. Superintendent: Mr. Wingard shared that Milford will be losing Emily Hemphill as a reporter. He included NASB's monthly update. |

4.3. Review of 2020-21 Staffing

We will review the attached documents. You have all seen the elementary and secondary information previously but just want to see if there are any questions. Also, we have a very rough draft of the extra duty list attached.

Mr. Wingard shared a report with the 2020-2021 staff and reviewed the changes.

President Dave Welsch shared information from meetings he has attended. This included a Platte Institute update and information from Senator Groene.

The administration discussed internet services and technology; food services,and the backpack program; work schedules; off-site learning; student schedule; elementary online learning and zoom meetings; secondary online learning; Mr. Goddard's You Tube Channel; staff creativity and flexibility; special education; Civics requirements; grading; end of the year check in of items; summer school; Driver's Education; and graduation
Mr. Wingard commended the administration and staff on their work during the COVID-19 pandemic. |

Discussion:
President Welsch let the administration know that their work and effort is appreciated. Ned Pauley commended the administration for their attitude through all of this.

6. Unfinished Business

6.1. Construction Update
More Information:
Things are moving along slowly. Just a few items to finish at the elementary. The high school project is moving along. We are changing some of the timelines to try and limit the number of times the sub contractors need to be on site. We also have a few concerns related to supplies that are manufactured in China and if those will be available. I will keep you updated on this process.

The proposed calendar is attached as well as a detailed list of important dates for the year. Obviously, there is a pretty good chance we will be editing this calendar the next several months due to our current situation.

7.1. Approve Contract for New Certified Staff - Makayla Roth, Elementary Special Education
More Information:
Makayla Roth is our recommendation for the elementary special education opening. Makayla has been teaching in Columbus the past two years. Makayla is a Milford graduate.
