More Information:
Mission Statement - Milford Public Schools will prepare all students to be successful citizens: Our Mission is fulfilled when all students read with comprehension, speak and write clearly, compute accurately, reason logically, understand and appreciate the fine arts, apply suitable strategies and habits of mind to solve problems, utilize technology to communicate and to understand information and behave morally.
This agenda contains a list of subjects known at the time of its distribution. A copy of the agenda reflecting any changes will be available for public inspection during normal business hours in the District Office. Except for items of an emergency nature, the agenda shall not be altered later than twenty-four hours before the meeting. The Board reserves the right to alter the order of items, as it deems necessary. |

This is the public’s opportunity to speak to items on the agenda. This is also the public’s opportunity to speak to any topic concerning the school district – since it is not an agenda item the board cannot discuss or take action on the matter at this time. Future discussion can be requested as an agenda item. To be recognized, all participants must complete the Request to Address the Milford Board of Education Form. No complaints regarding specific staff members will be heard during a public meeting. The District has established separate procedures for complaints against individual employees. Thank you for your participation. |

Discussion:
Elementary Principal: Mrs. Hartman recognized the elementary students. She discussed the Pennies for Patients fundraiser; the 2nd and 3rd grade program; the 6th grade program; parent-teacher conferences; the Tech and STEM Family Night; and Read Across America Day .
Assistant Secondary Principal: Mr. Soester recognized the junior/senior students. He discussed the Fine Arts trip to San Francisco; parent-teacher conferences; sophomore and junior meetings; junior's ACT test; and spring sports. He commended the winter sports teams. He pointed out upcoming junior/senior high activities. Superintendent: Mr. Wingard included NASB's monthly update and the School Law Reporter. He discussed the priority statements and goals. He pointed upcoming NRCSA and NASB trainings and future meetings. |

More Information:
Elementary - not much new to report. Electrical work and fire panel work continued this past month. Outside work is at a stand still right now. Hopefully the weather starts to cooperate.
The High School project's plans are getting closer to completion. Items we are looking at:

Discussion:
President Welsch commended Mr. Soester on his report on student performance. Jessica Dunlap inquired how Kellen Kubicek did at the District Spelling Bee and asked about the State Spelling Bee.

7.1. Accept Resignation/Retirement of Teacher Pat Johnson
More Information:
This is a tough one for myself and the district. Pat Johnson has taught at Milford Public Schools for 31 years. She was in Pleasant Dale for 23 and in Milford the past 8. She has taught Kindergarten, second, third and fourth grades.
Pat has been a fantastic staff member. Her positive attitude and dedication to students will be greatly missed. We wish Pat and her husband Jim the best in her retirement years.

7.2. Accept Resignation of Teacher Jessica Kurth
More Information:
Jessica has accepted a special education position with Wahoo Public Schools. Jessica currently commutes from Wahoo so the move is great for her and her family. Jessica has done an outstanding job and she will be missed.
