1. Milford Public Schools Board of Education Information
More Information:
Mission Statement - Milford Public Schools will prepare all students to be successful citizens: Our Mission is fulfilled when all students read with comprehension, speak and write clearly, compute accurately, reason logically, understand and appreciate the fine arts, apply suitable strategies and habits of mind to solve problems, utilize technology to communicate and to understand information and behave morally.
This agenda contains a list of subjects known at the time of its distribution. A copy of the agenda reflecting any changes will be available for public inspection during normal business hours in the District Office. Except for items of an emergency nature, the agenda shall not be altered later than twenty-four hours before the meeting. The Board reserves the right to alter the order of items, as it deems necessary. |

This is the public’s opportunity to speak to items on the agenda. This is also the public’s opportunity to speak to any topic concerning the school district – since it is not an agenda item the board cannot discuss or take action on the matter at this time. Future discussion can be requested as an agenda item. To be recognized, all participants must complete the Request to Address the Milford Board of Education Form. No complaints regarding specific staff members will be heard during a public meeting. The District has established separate procedures for complaints against individual employees. Thank you for your participation. |

Discussion:
Elementary Principal: Mrs. Hartman shared individual elementary accomplishments. She discussed the Cold Hands Warm Hearts Project, gingerbread houses,
Secondary Principal: Mr. Mowinkel shared individual and group accomplishments. He discussed winter sports, semester tests, and the holiday basketball tournament. Director of Learning: Dr. Kubicek discussed the January 4th staff in-service, external team visit, teacher book study, and the MAP-Reading Assessment and MAP Reading Fluency. Superintendent: Mr. Wingard included NASBs Monthly Update. He shared the Nebraska State Board of Education declined to act on NSEA's Rule 62 petition. He congratulated Brandon Mowinkel on finishing he specialist degree and Cory Hartman for finishing her principal's endorsement. He discussed the 2021 legislative session. Mr. Wingard pointed out the upcoming NASB and NRCSA trainings and future meetings. |

This is a rough draft of our first attempt at penciling out a calendar for the 2021-22 school year. We have attached the calendar draft and also a document that lists activities that have a possible impact on the calendar.

4.5. Striv Update - Nick Restau
More Information:
I have asked Nick Restau to attend the meeting to discuss the program and answer questions related to our Striv program. With the COVID restrictions it is obviously a hot topic at this time. I am proud that our students continue to volunteer to run this program under Mr. Restau's leadership.

4.6. COVID-19 Report
More Information:
We have attached a COVID Board Meeting Report and several documents that are mentioned in the report related to the newest DHMs.
Discussion:
Mr. Wingard discussed the district's COVID numbers, the end of the semester schedule change, remote learning, testing in Seward, guideline changes and reduced quarantines, activities, the Governor's directed health measures, and NSAA guidelines.
