Mission Statement - Milford Public Schools will prepare all students to be successful citizens: Our Mission is fulfilled when all students read with comprehension, speak and write clearly, compute accurately, reason logically, understand and appreciate the fine arts, apply suitable strategies and habits of mind to solve problems, utilize technology to communicate and to understand information and behave morally.
This agenda contains a list of subjects known at the time of its distribution. A copy of the agenda reflecting any changes will be available for public inspection during normal business hours in the District Office. Except for items of an emergency nature, the agenda shall not be altered later than twenty-four hours before the meeting. The Board reserves the right to alter the order of items, as it deems necessary. |

This is the public’s opportunity to speak to items on the agenda. This is also the public’s opportunity to speak to other non-agenda topics concerning the school district - since it is not an agenda item the board cannot discuss or take action on the matter at this time. To be recognized, all participants must complete the Request to Address the Milford Board of Education Form. The District has established separate complaint procedures for any complaints, including complaints and concerns against individual employees. As such, the Board requests that this complaint process be followed before discussion with the Board takes place. Thank you for your participation. |

Discussion:
Secondary Principal: Mr. Mowinkel congratulated the Quiz Bowl team, Junior High Volleyball, the Cross Country teams, the MHS band, Carter Roth and Avery Saltzman. He discussed the College and Career Access Fair, the annual College Fair, parent/teacher conferences, "Apply2College" day, Food Pantry Door Dash, and the SNC Volleyball tournament. He pointed out upcoming junior/senior high activities.
Director of Learning: Dr. Kubicek discussed the staff in-service day with Ken O'Connor and the new state assessment called NSCAS Growth. Superintendent: Mr. Wingard discussed the ALICAP Ransomware Coverage. He included NASB's Monthly Update. He shared the Americanism Committee meeting will be at the November board meeting. He discussed having a board retreat/community input session. He discussed the Fine Arts trip. He pointed out upcoming NASB trainings and future meetings. |

4.4. Review/Discuss COVID-19 Return to School Plan and Report

As required, this is on the agenda monthly for public comments. The plan and a survey link are also on our website for public input. There have been no changes to our Safe Return to School Plan.
The district currently has two students, 8th and 11th grade, quarantined due to positive tests. This is 0.24% of our student body. |

Incumbents must file between January 5th and February 15th. Jessica, Jim, and Dave are the incumbents that need to file. Non-incumbents have until March 1st. |

President Welsch shared that NRCSA will be meeting in Columbus on October 18 to discuss the "Columbus Plan".

We have discussed our concerns with the numbers in special education several times. I am requesting board approval to hire staff as needed to meet the needs of the students in our special education program.
