7.2. Review, Consider, and Take All Necessary Action on 2022-23 Lunch Prices
More Information:
The U.S. Department of Agriculture's lunch waiver program is set to expire on June 30th as it was left out of the Federal spending bill. This means the "regular" lunch system of three tiers will be back in place - free lunch, reduced lunch and full pay lunch. I believe this will be a shock to many families after not having a lunch bill for a couple of years.
I also feel it will be a shock for our lunch program as well. This is a very time-consuming program in regards to keeping track of lunch balances and getting families to pay their bills. I am also very concerned about the prices of supplies for meals. As you all know, inflation and gas prices are going to cause continued price increases. Recommended Prices: Elementary Breakfast at $1.50. It was $1.40 previously. 7-12 Breakfast at $1.65. Same price. Elementary Lunch at $2.90. It was $2.85. 7-12 Lunch at $3.15. It was $3.10.
