More Information: Mission Statement - Milford Public Schools will prepare all students to be successful citizens: Our Mission is fulfilled when all students read with comprehension, speak and write clearly, compute accurately, reason logically, understand and appreciate the fine arts, apply suitable strategies and habits of mind to solve problems, utilize technology to communicate and to understand information and behave morally.

This agenda contains a list of subjects known at the time of its distribution. This is the public’s opportunity to speak to items on the agenda. This is also the public’s opportunity to speak to other non-agenda topics concerning the school district - since it is not an agenda item the board cannot discuss or take action on the matter at this time. To be recognized, all participants must complete the Request to Address the Milford Board of Education Form. The District has established separate complaint procedures for any complaints, including complaints and concerns against individual employees. As such, the Board requests that this complaint process be followed before discussion with the Board takes place. Thank you for your participation.

Depreciation for $45,104

$28,210 for 70 iPads for the elementary - 2nd grade cart. Removes our last group of iPads that we cannot update or run some of our programs on.
$16,894 for AC compressors at the high school - north gym units.

General Fund Items

$1,283 to Benesch is for our three-year asbestos inspection and report.
$14,840 to Commonwealth Electric Company is for re-wiring part of the high school. Updated all lines to Cat 6 and removed lines that had splices from past work.
$2,723 to Eakes is for two months and not the usual one month.
$37,785 to Egan is for our summer gym work. The north gym was due for a complete sanding. The south gym will receive the complete sanding next summer.
WoodRiver Energy is the new natural gas carrier for NJump and so they will start appearing on the monthly expenditures.

I have also attached the History of Monthly Expenditures (General Fund) document for your review. Some items to point out after 12 months of expenditures:

We have expended $525,472 more than this time last year.
1. This is a 5.68% increase over expenditures at the same time last year.
2. Our monthly general expenditure average is down compared to last year but it could increase at the last meeting in August like in the past years. We spent $1,756,068 compared to $1,846,173 last year at this time.
3. Our payroll increased by $615,577 or 8.32% for the year. The monthly average increased by $51,298.
4. Last year at this time, our 21-22 expenditures were at an increase of $662,915 or a 7.99% increase over 19/20 spending.
Special Building Fund is at $397,092 this year compared to $302,884 last year.
Depreciation Fund is at $658,967 this year compared to $730,531 last year.
Lunch Fund is at $295,354.26 this year compared to $206,047 last year.

4.1. Review/Discuss Administrative Reports

Discussion: Elementary Principal: Mrs. Hartman discussed Back to School Night and the new 2022-23 Eagle's Nests.

Secondary Principal: Mr. Mowinkel discussed fall sports; the "Weather Globe" devices NSAA has provided each school; upcoming jr/sr high school activities; "The Best First Day Ever", KSB Law presentation; and On To College ACT Prep.

Director of Learning: Dr. Kubicek discussed NSCAS and MAP assessments; opening in-service days; and the reVision Grant.

Superintendent: Mr. Wingard included the opening staff in-service schedule and NASB's Monthly Update. He discussed NCSA Administrator Days and the mudjacking at the high school. He thanked Dr. Kubicek for all of his work with state assessments. He pointed out upcoming NASB trainings and future meetings.

4.2. Review/Discuss Student Enrollment Report

More Information: Student enrollment numbers are changing daily. The elementary numbers are changing by the hour and I was going to keep updating but will just wait until Monday night.

Attached are our numbers as of Friday morning.

K-6 is at 430. This is down by 6 students since May.
7-8 is at 137. This is up by one student since May.
9-12 is at 222. This is even from May.

Other numbers: 95 students option into MPS, 29 option out of MPS, and we have 77 students that are home schooled in our district.
