Mission Statement - Milford Public Schools will prepare all students to be successful citizens: Our Mission is fulfilled when all students read with comprehension, speak and write clearly, compute accurately, reason logically, understand and appreciate the fine arts, apply suitable strategies and habits of mind to solve problems, utilize technology to communicate and to understand information and behave morally.
This agenda contains a list of subjects known at the time of its distribution. A copy of the agenda reflecting any changes will be available for public inspection during normal business hours in the District Office. Except for items of an emergency nature, the agenda shall not be altered later than twenty-four hours before the meeting. The Board reserves the right to alter the order of items, as it deems necessary. |

This is the public’s opportunity to speak to items on the agenda. This is also the public’s opportunity to speak to other non-agenda topics concerning the school district - since it is not an agenda item the board cannot discuss or take action on the matter at this time. To be recognized, all participants must complete the Request to Address the Milford Board of Education Form. The District has established separate complaint procedures for any complaints, including complaints and concerns against individual employees. As such, the Board requests that this complaint process be followed before discussion with the Board takes place. Thank you for your participation. |

Discussion:
Elementary Principal: Mrs. Hartman recognized the students of the month. She discussed Red Ribbon Week; Eagle's Nest groups; Pumpkin Painting Contest; the Turkey Trot race and canned food drive; Veterans' Day Program; she thanked the Elementary PTO and Scheels for the new playground balls.
Secondary Principal: Dr. Mowinkel congratulated the Cross Country team for all of their accomplishments. He pointed out all school records that were broken during fall sports. He congratulated the softball and volleyball teams. He discussed the annual Career, College, and Military Access Day; the state volleyball broadcasting crew; SNC One Act Competition; Sadie Frazier being recognized at the ???? Director of Learning: Dr. Kubicek included a written report discussing the math material update; reading assessments; Gerry Brooks, the national speaker for the January 3, 2024 staff in-service; and the Fall 2023 School Profile. Superintendent: Mr. Wingard included NASB's Monthly Update. He discussed the EHA insurance renewal rates. He pointed out upcoming NASB and NRCSA trainings and future board meetings. |

7.3. Review, Consider, and Take All Necessary Action on Purchase of a 2014 GMC Mini Bus
More Information:
Cross County Community School is selling a 2014 GMC Mini Bus that has 78,273 miles. It also has two working wheelchair lifts. We have been looking for a used one for a number of years. This bus is actually in better shape than one of ours, and is equal to the 2nd. It would be used on our daily special education routes for our students that use wheelchairs and for activities for these students when needed. Cross County is asking $20,000. We will purchase this under special education accounts.
