This agenda contains a list of subjects known at the time of its distribution.  A copy of the agenda reflecting any changes will be available for public inspection during normal business hours in the District Office.  Except for items of an emergency nature, the agenda shall not be altered later than twenty-four hours before the meeting.  The Board reserves the right to alter the order of items, as it deems necessary.

Information concerning the Open Meeting Law, Chapter 84, Article 14 of Nebraska State Statutes, is posted on the bulletin board in the back of the meeting room.

This is the public’s opportunity to speak to items on the agenda. This is also the public’s opportunity to speak to other non-agenda topics concerning the school district - since it is not an agenda item the board cannot discuss or take action on the matter at this time. To be recognized, all participants must complete the Request to Address the Milford Board of Education Form.  The District has established separate complaint procedures for any complaints, including complaints and concerns against individual employees.  As such, the Board requests that this complaint process be followed before discussion with the Board takes place.  Thank you for your participation.

Expenditures to Point Out:

1. We have $1,564 to various parents for reimbursement for the fall ACT test for juniors.  This will be reimbursed by the anonymous donation grant we receive in the summer.
2. $9,111.41 to the COOP is higher than normal.  Diesel prices and mileage were up.  Also, we had to replace tires on 3 buses after inspections.
3. $15,500 to Porter is for our financial audits.  In addition to our regular audit, we had to have an additional audit on our federal funds due to the ARRA grants. The cost of our audits has increased significantly compared to 5 years ago due to the additional requirements in the audits.
4. $2,110 to Kidwell is for repairs to our intercom system.
5. $720 to KSB Law is for special education items, student discipline items, and a staff item.  $600 of the expenditures are special education related.
6. $635 to McGraw Hill is for de-coding and reading books for special education classes.
7. $2,424 to Home Depot Pro is for our paper products for maintenance and heating/cooling unit filters.

1. Our monthly average expenditures to date is at $967,213.  This is $49,755 higher than this time last year.  

2. After this month's expenditures, we have a cash on hand of $62,898.41.

The Board of Education reserves the right to enter into Closed/Executive Session for 1) the protection of the public interest, or 2) the prevention of needless injury to the reputation of an individual, and/or the individual has not requested a public meeting. When making a motion to enter into Closed/Executive Session, the member making the motion should be as specific as possible as to the reason(s) for executive session.

The Board President will restate the reason for Closed/Executive Session after the motion has been acted on.
