1. Milford Public Schools Board of Education Information
More Information:
Mission Statement - Milford Public Schools will prepare all students to be successful citizens: Our Mission is fulfilled when all students read with comprehension, speak and write clearly, compute accurately, reason logically, understand and appreciate the fine arts, apply suitable strategies and habits of mind to solve problems, utilize technology to communicate and to understand information and behave morally.
This agenda contains a list of subjects known at the time of its distribution. A copy of the agenda reflecting any changes will be available for public inspection during normal business hours in the District Office. Except for items of an emergency nature, the agenda shall not be altered later than twenty-four hours before the meeting. The Board reserves the right to alter the order of items, as it deems necessary. |

This is the public’s opportunity to speak to items on the agenda. This is also the public’s opportunity to speak to any topic concerning the school district – since it is not an agenda item the board cannot discuss or take action on the matter at this time. Future discussion can be requested as an agenda item. To be recognized, all participants must complete the Request to Address the Milford Board of Education Form. No complaints regarding specific staff members will be heard during a public meeting. The District has established separate procedures for complaints against individual employees. Thank you for your participation. |

Board of Education recognition week is January 18 - 24.
No sign in sheets for visitors anymore - it is not legal.
The revenue committee is having a hearing tomorrow. No public input but the public is invited. Property tax, income tax, sales tax and other areas of revenue will be discussed.
Mr. Wingard and Shelly Mowinkel presented to the city the LED sign fund raiser.

7.1. Discuss/Act on Administrative Contracts
More Information:
President Welsch will lead this discussion. He has requested Executive Session be used. We will also discuss a student discipline situation in Executive Session.
Here is the motion that is located in the Executive Session Section: Motion to move into Executive Session for purposes of discussing Item VII - A and a Student Discipline Situation. Executive Session is necessary for the prevention of needless injury to the reputation of the individual or individuals because they have not requested a public hearing and for the protection of the public interest. |

7.2. Superintendent's Evaluation
More Information:
Just need to clarify the process and timeline the Board wants to use this year. Our policy is attached. It states that I am to be evaluated at the December meeting so I can be notified by January 15th if you are not renewing my contract.
Dave attended a session at the NASB Conference and has some recommendations. I am fine with postponing these deadlines so Dave and I have a chance to look at this policy in more detail. I am making this statement based on my opinion that you are going to renew my contact. |

The Board of Education reserves the right to enter into Closed/Executive Session for 1) the protection of the public interest, or 2) the prevention of needless injury to the reputation of an individual, and/or the individual has not requested a public meeting. When making a motion to enter into Closed/Executive Session, the member making the motion should be as specific as possible as to the reason(s) for executive session.
