More Information:  Mission Statement - Milford Public Schools will prepare all students to be successful citizens: Our Mission is fulfilled when all students read with comprehension, speak and write clearly, compute accurately, reason logically, understand and appreciate the fine arts, apply suitable strategies and habits of mind to solve problems, utilize technology to communicate and to understand information and behave morally.

This agenda contains a list of subjects known at the time of its distribution.  A copy of the agenda reflecting any changes will be available for public inspection during normal business hours in the District Office.  Except for items of an emergency nature, the agenda shall not be altered later than twenty-four hours before the meeting.  The Board reserves the right to alter the order of items, as it deems necessary.

This is the public’s opportunity to speak to items on the agenda. This is also the public’s opportunity to speak to any topic concerning the school district – since it is not an agenda item the board cannot discuss or take action on the matter at this time. Future discussion can be requested as an agenda item. To be recognized, all participants must complete the Request to Address the Milford Board of Education Form. No complaints regarding specific staff members will be heard during a public meeting. The District has established separate procedures for complaints against individual employees. Depreciation Fund for $19,590

Items to point out:

1. Depreciation Fund - we are paying for part of the computers we approved last month from this account as we will have summer projects that will need to come out of general fund.  Also, we paid for the HVAC updates out of general fund last month instead of depreciation.
2. General Items - we have a lot of payments related to speech this month, we are seeing more credit card payments as companies are going away from the PO process and want a check or credit card at time of ordering, we are also using Amazon more as we are getting good prices for supplies, and my mileage reimbursement is from August until now.
3. $5,914 to Apple is equipment we approved last month.
4. $3,970 to CDW is for wireless access points and these are replacing some of our original equipment as the old equipment and new equipment do not work well together.  We have computers being bounced back and forth between access points so the computers are being kicked off the internet.
5. $5,140 to Central NE Refrigeration is for replacing the motor on our ice maker at the high school.  We were able to reuse the base or cooler part of it.  It was originally purchased when we built the north addition.
6. $11,685 to DakTech is for the industrial arts computers we approved last month.
7. $2,087 to Stutzman Digging is for the water line break we had several weeks ago.

More Information:  We have attached the list of Option Enrollment Requests to date.  These are the requests that qualify for approval by the option district without having to ask the student resident district for release.  That deadline is March 15th.

At this point, all students would qualify based on our option enrollment policy.  We will have discussion items for you at the meeting.

More Information:  This is an annual item for our March meeting.  The list of current Foundation Board Members is attached.

Larry Heyen and Dr. Bob Wergin have terms ending this month.  Both have indicated they would like to remain on the Board.

We have been invited to consider applying for a Sixpence Grant with Seward Public Schools, Centennial Public School and the Seward Head Start organization.

This is great for student and family services for infant/toddlers that are birth to 3 years of age.  In a nutshell, the Head Start program will run the grant and hire the employees.  O-3 year olds in our district that are considered to be "at risk" and their parents will receive parent training and educational opportunities that we cannot currently provide.

Approving this motion allows me to move forward in the meetings and application process.  I will share more information with you as it progresses.

When making a motion to enter into Closed/Executive Session, the member making the motion should be as specific as possible as to the reason(s) for executive session.

The Board President will restate the reason for Closed/Executive Session after the motion has been acted on.
