1. Milford Public Schools Board of Education Information
More Information:
Mission Statement - Milford Public Schools will prepare all students to be successful citizens: Our Mission is fulfilled when all students read with comprehension, speak and write clearly, compute accurately, reason logically, understand and appreciate the fine arts, apply suitable strategies and habits of mind to solve problems, utilize technology to communicate and to understand information and behave morally.
This agenda contains a list of subjects known at the time of its distribution. A copy of the agenda reflecting any changes will be available for public inspection during normal business hours in the District Office. Except for items of an emergency nature, the agenda shall not be altered later than twenty-four hours before the meeting. The Board reserves the right to alter the order of items, as it deems necessary. |

This is the public’s opportunity to speak to items on the agenda. This is also the public’s opportunity to speak to any topic concerning the school district – since it is not an agenda item the board cannot discuss or take action on the matter at this time. Future discussion can be requested as an agenda item. To be recognized, all participants must complete the Request to Address the Milford Board of Education Form. No complaints regarding specific staff members will be heard during a public meeting. The District has established separate procedures for complaints against individual employees. 7.1. Act on 2015-16 Option Enrollment Requests
More Information:
We have attached the list of Option Enrollment Requests to date. These are the requests that qualify for approval by the option district without having to ask the student resident district for release. That deadline is March 15th.
At this point, all students would qualify based on our option enrollment policy. We will have discussion items for you at the meeting.

7.2. Appoint Milford Schools Foundation Board of Directors
More Information:
This is an annual item for our March meeting. The list of current Foundation Board Members is attached.
Larry Heyen and Dr. Bob Wergin have terms ending this month. Both have indicated they would like to remain on the Board.

7.3. Approve Sixpence Grant Involvment

A basic information sheet is attached. You can see more information on their website if interested.
We have been invited to consider applying for a Sixpence Grant with Seward Public Schools, Centennial Public School and the Seward Head Start organization. This is great for student and family services for infant/toddlers that are birth to 3 years of age. In a nutshell, the Head Start program will run the grant and hire the employees. O-3 year olds in our district that are considered to be "at risk" and their parents will receive parent training and educational opportunities that we cannot currently provide. Approving this motion allows me to move forward in the meetings and application process. I will share more information with you as it progresses.

7.4. Act on Policy 5057 Parental Involvement in the Title I Program
More Information:
As mentioned in the Administrative Reports, we are required to update this policy. I will have a final version for your review at the Board Meeting as we are not ready with all the changes at the time of posting this agenda.
