1. Milford Public Schools Board of Education Information
More Information:
Mission Statement - Milford Public Schools will prepare all students to be successful citizens: Our Mission is fulfilled when all students read with comprehension, speak and write clearly, compute accurately, reason logically, understand and appreciate the fine arts, apply suitable strategies and habits of mind to solve problems, utilize technology to communicate and to understand information and behave morally.
This agenda contains a list of subjects known at the time of its distribution. A copy of the agenda reflecting any changes will be available for public inspection during normal business hours in the District Office. Except for items of an emergency nature, the agenda shall not be altered later than twenty-four hours before the meeting. The Board reserves the right to alter the order of items, as it deems necessary. |

This is the public’s opportunity to speak to items on the agenda. This is also the public’s opportunity to speak to any topic concerning the school district – since it is not an agenda item the board cannot discuss or take action on the matter at this time. Future discussion can be requested as an agenda item. To be recognized, all participants must complete the Request to Address the Milford Board of Education Form. No complaints regarding specific staff members will be heard during a public meeting. The District has established separate procedures for complaints against individual employees. Thank you for your participation. |

Discussion:
Mr. Wingard thanked the Board for their help at graduation.
TeBrinks will take part in the Nebraska High School Rodeo Association and would like to use the name "Milford High School Rodeo Team". The Board approved the use of the name.
Mr. Wingard attended a meeting at Best in Lincoln.
Todd Becker presentation is scheduled for August 19.
Mr. Wingard shared information on Kid's TLC looking for a location in Nebraska.

K-6 = 179 boys and 175 girls for a total of 354
7-8 = 55 boys and 56 girls for a total of 111 9-12 = 98 boys and 124 girls for a total of 222 K-12 = 332 boys and 355 girls for a total of 687 |

5. Board Commentary
Discussion:
President Dave Welsch shared there were many positive comments regarding graduation. Tony Roth commended the speeches and the duet at graduation. President Welsch congratulated Cameron Soester on winning the Assistant Principal of the Year award for Region I. He also shared that Ned Pauley won the Kiwanis award.

6.1. Continued Discussion of Possible Summer Projects

I will hopefully have updates for you on the scoreboards. In particular to answer Ned's question about moving the gym scoreboards so new ones would be in the north gym.
Discussion:
Mr. Wingard shared information regarding new scoreboards in the north gym and moving the old scoreboards to the south gym.
The Board discussed options for repairs and replacement of the track and football field.

7.1. Act on 2015-16 Option Enrollment Requests
More Information:
We have three new requests to consider:
2015-16 Kindergarten is currently at 46 students with 3 teachers (15,15,16). So we have room. I will be recommending approval.

The Board of Education reserves the right to enter into Closed/Executive Session for 1) the protection of the public interest, or 2) the prevention of needless injury to the reputation of an individual, and/or the individual has not requested a public meeting. When making a motion to enter into Closed/Executive Session, the member making the motion should be as specific as possible as to the reason(s) for executive session. |
