1. Workshop Called to Order and Roll Call
Discussion:
President O'Daniel noted that this workshop was being held in compliance with the Open Meeting Laws and that the same were posted on the wall. |
2. Overview of district progress
Discussion:
President Matt O'Daniel welcomed and thanked those present for their attendance. He then introduced the board members and NASB presenter, Marcia Herring. President O'Daniel provided an overview of the board goals indicating that the board goals, objectives and strategies were influenced by the input that was received by stakeholders in the community engagement sessions hosted in 2014. He provided an overview of the progress made on the goals. |
3. Stakeholder Engagement Session(s)
Discussion:
Marcia Herring, provided an overview of the collaborative process that would be used to discuss and brainstorm strategies in the four areas that seemed to be common elements derived from the survey feedback. The four areas included academics, expanded learning opportunities, facilities, and community support structures. Participants shared the highlights of their small group discussion with the whole group. Ms. Herring explained that all of the information received through the stakeholder engagement session will be collected and shared out with the board and all of the participants. In addition, the board will provide another opportunity for all stakeholders of the district to respond to the four areas discussed via a survey that will be linked to the district website. |

President Matt O'Daniel thanked everyone for their input and willingness to support the students through their collaborative efforts. He adjourned the meeting at 8:34 p.m. |
