1. OPENING PROCEDURES
Rationale:
COPY OF OPEN MEETINGS ACT: The Board of Education makes available at least one current copy of the Open Meetings Act posted in the meeting room at a location accessible to members of the public. The Act is posted on the south wall of the meeting room. ORDER OF AGENDA ITEMS: The Arlington Board of Education reserves the right to adjust the order of items on this agenda.

2. REVIEW OF ANNUAL DISTRICT PLAN
Discussion:
Board members reviewed all five goals. Suggestions for edits, changes, and deleting accomplished tasks were made. Additional strategies were added. Updated goals will be presented on the February 14 regular board meeting agenda.

3.1. Review of Committee's Purpose, Member Roles/Responsibilities and Reports:
Discussion:
Committees role and purpose were reviewed. Addition of a policy committee was discussed. A survey of our array indicates about half of the schools have a policy committee. They have slightly different functions in each district. Since our entire board reviews policies each month, and review all new policies collectively, at this time there is no indication that we need to add another committee. Discussion of the purpose of the curriculum committee lead to the tasks of researching a world language program at the elementary level for earlier exposure.
