1. Call Committee on American Civics to Order:

2. Determination of Legality of the Committee Meeting and Roll Call
Discussion:
Chairperson Roach called the Committee on American Civics to order at 6:45 PM.
Chairperson Roach acknowledged that the notice of the committee meeting was given in advance by publication appearing in the June 6, 2024, edition of the Doniphan Herald in accordance with the Board-approved method for giving notice of meetings and as required by the Nebraska Revised Statute 79-724. Notice of this meeting was given in advance to all members of the Board of Education. The availability of the agenda was communicated in the publicized notice and a current copy of the Agenda was maintained as stated in the publicized notice. All proceedings of the Board of Education, except as may be hereinafter noted, were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public as indicated by the Open Meetings Act on the West wall of the boardroom. In addition to the board members and superintendent, Principals Mr. Rod Engel and Ms. Michaela Goracke was also present. |

Discussion:
Mr. Braden reviewed the requirements of the Committee on American Civics.

Discussion:
Mr. Engel and Ms. Goracke shared textbook resource updates related to the social studies curriculum and responded to board member questions.
