3.1. Presentation, discussion and or official action regarding building construction and design decisions and determinations, Owner's representative report.
Discussion:
Owner's representative Rayme Fauss provided updates for the Board regarding the projects at Bennet and Palmyra. The remaining item at Bennet is the metal wall panels. The supplier should receive the product for fabrication with an installation date scheduled for October 31. The walk through of the building will be scheduled after that date. Baffles are performing well with drainage being functional. At Palmyra work is focused on the interior including door hardware, former stage area rooms and flooring to begin over a holiday time frame. Work on exterior stairs for the east parking lot is moving along well. Wall panels will be delivered on or around the 19th. Structural steel will be delivered at the end of the month and the projected date to enclose the gym space is the first of December. Some landscaping is being completed as well as soil compaction in the area of the former coal pit. Board of Education members had an opportunity to ask questions. The Board was asked to review the change order protocol as it applies to policy. Superintendent Hanger reviewed the policy and based on direct conversation with the district legal counsel reminded board members that the protocol supersedes the policy as it was put in place to keep the project moving forward. |
