1. Declaration of Intend -- Open Meetings Act
Discussion:
The Special Board of Education Meeting met Tuesday July 11th 2022 at 6:00 pm in the school Library at Sumner Eddyville Miller School.

2. Call to Order
Discussion:
Notice of the meeting was posted on July 5th, 2022 to the SEM Mustang school web site and Facebook page for the board meeting to be held on July 11th, 2022 at 6:00p.m. Availability of the agenda was communicated in the published notice. All proceedings hereafter as shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public. This meeting was conducted in accordance with the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 84, Article 14 posted in the School Library. President Chris Reiter opened the board meeting at 6:00pm

3. Discussion Items

3.1. Discussion of the interim search process.
Discussion:
Shari Becker with NASB attended the meeting about interim superintendents and the process of the interview. She told us there are 3 candidates that are interested in our position available. The board went into classed session @ 6:38 pm and came out of session @7:02pm to discuss the candidates. The board decided to interview all 3 candidates on Tuesday July 19th starting @ 5:30, 6:45, and 8pm.

3.2. Review of interim candidates.

3.2.1. Motion to move into an executive session to discuss candidates.
Rationale:
The discussion of candidates has the potential of harming the reputation of individual candidates. Therefore, the board wishing to prevent any unnecessary reputation-damaging discussion will move to an executive session.
No official action will take place during the executive session. |
