1. Call to Order and Note Attendees
Discussion:
Present: Brad Breitkreutz, Cathy Burklund, and Derek Matulka. Also attending were: Lynn Johnson, Superintendent; Allison Stansberry, Secondary Principal; and Shelly Dostal, Valparaiso Elementary Principal.
Chairman Breitkreutz called the meeting to order at 5:13 PM. |

2. Review social studies curriculum, standards, assessments and teaching staff as identified in statute

Discussion:
Principals Allison Stansberry and Shelly Dostal prepared a written report capturing the names of persons teaching social studies, courses that were taught within the social studies department, how the curriculum addresses multiculturalism, how patriotic songs are addressed, the assessments used to measure mastery, the specific grade levels in which American History is part of the curriculum, and how we are meeting the requirements of civics and citizenship.
