6.1. Superintendent
Discussion:
Mr. Hoesing advised the board that per the Nebraska North Central Health Department, it was recommended to close the school for 2 weeks to prevent further spread of the COVID-19 virus. 2 weeks from today Mr. Hoesing will again see what the recommendation is, if we get the okay to reopen, school will resume 3-31-20. Tomorrow Mr. Hoesing is meeting with staff to come up with an educational plan for our students throughout this time. The Nebraska Department of Education is suspending summative statewide assessment (NSCAS) for the 2019-20 school year. This includes NSCAS - General, Alternate, and ACT.

Discussion:
Mr. Higgins thanked the Board for the time off when his son in law passed away. Mr. Higgins stated he feels Mr. Hoesing's choice to act on the recomendation from the Nebraska Department of Health was being proactive and the correct choice for our students and staff.

Discussion:
Mr. Conn stated effective today, the NSAA stated all practices have been suspended until March 30th. All competitions are suspended until April 2nd. Wausa High School this year has 7 golfers and 39 Track and Field participants.
