2) Public Hearing Called to Order for
Discussion:
Clerk Randall called Roll Call to establish a quorum: Chair Kroos, Asst. Chair Knuth, Trustee Sidders, and Trustee Legg were present to form the quorum Trustee Higel was absent. Others present: Village Superintendent — Glen Kuehn, and Village Clerk/Treasurer - Jodi Randall. Other residents were in attendance.

3) Open Public Budget Hearing: Public Board Hearing for the board to discuss and hear public comments regarding the proposed 2026-2027 budget and setting the final tax request at a different amount than the prior year's tax request — the budget hearing closes no earlier than 7:00 p.m. or when all public comments are finished.

4) Public Comments:
Discussion:
Brandi Eiseman addressed the Board with questions regarding the Village budget. She asked whether the decrease in this year’s budget was primarily due to the significant increase in the previous year related to the City Auditorium project. The Board and Clerk Randall confirmed that this was the primary reason for the decrease. It was also noted that, despite the overall budget decrease, the Village has planned for several larger street and water infrastructure projects during the upcoming year. The Board and Clerk Randall also provided clarification regarding the property tax levy and discussed the importance of considering small, gradual increases when necessary to help maintain financial stability and reduce the potential need for a significant increase in response to future unexpected expenses or major projects. |
