VII. Principals Report

Discussion:
Mr. Nick Brost gave the principal's report. He met with ESU16 to improve learning and education systems for students and staff. He coordinated with the booster club, cheer team, student advisory committee, administration and STUCO for the Homecoming week schedule. There was discussion about student progress education testing. He gave special recognition to all of the officials, staff, students, and community volunteers that help to make our athletic events and concession stands run smoothly. He provided updated on MAC conference events, upcoming contests and meetings.

Discussion:
Mr. David Spencer gave the superintendent's report. During the first few weeks, the staff and students worked on safety drills. The fire extinguisher inspection and fire safety systems checks are complete. The first set of testing and some learning trips for the first quarter are completed. The keyless entry system, the new AED on the charter bus, and the new stage curtains are installed and operational. There was discussion about ESSER, Title funds and safety projects. Congrats to all NE State Fair participants.

Discussion:
RESOLUTION SETTING THE PROPERTY TAX REQUEST
2022-23 TAX REQUEST RESOLUTION RESOLUTION NO. 09192022 WHEREAS, Nebraska Revised Statute 77-1632 and 77-1633 provides that the Governing Body of the South Platte Public School passes by a majority vote a resolution or ordinance setting the tax request; and WHEREAS, a special public hearing was held as required by law to hear and consider comments concerning the property tax request; NOW, THEREFORE, The Governing Body of South Platte Public School resolves that: 1.The 2022-2023 property tax request be set at: * General Fund: $2,971,324.00 * Bond Fund: $421,132.00 * Special Building Fund: $46,792.00 * Qualified Capital Purpose: $ .00 * Undertaking Fund: 2. The total assessed value of property differs from last year’s total assessed value by 5.36 percent. 3. The tax rate which would levy the same amount of property taxes as last year, when multiplied by the new total assessed value of property would be 0.721352 per $100 of assessed value. 4. South Platte Public School proposes to adopt a property tax request that will cause its tax rate to be 0.735 per $100 of assessed value. 5. Based on the proposed property tax request and changes in other revenue, the total operating budget of South Platte Public School will increase (or decrease) last year’s budget by 8.29 percent. 6. A copy of this resolution will be certified and forwarded to the County Clerk on or before October 15, 2022.
