Elementary Principal

All teachers are completing lesson plans with the expected components. It is clear teachers have focused on planning and being prepared for all lessons.
Walk throughs are being implemented and feedback is provided to teachers.
Professional growth plan conversations were held between teachers and their evaluator
1. This provided a time to talk through their professional goal, actions steps to meet their goal, and the timeline/check-in process to ensure they are successful
FastBridge data analysis was completed September 12th for reading and math
1. Core, small group, and individual interventions are being done based on the data
2. Family reports along with a letter explaining the screening process were sent home on September 16th.
Fall Reading Law requirements have been met for K-3
1. 30 students have an IRIP, individual reading intervention plan in place
  1. 9 kindergarten, 3 first grade, 12 second grade, 6 third grade
  2. Interventions are starting core (classroom) level, small group, and individual
  3. Will see major growth by winter screening
2. Parent letters have also been sent home
First semester formal observations are being scheduled
ESU3 coaches have dates, times, and topics set up with all of the elementary teachers they are coaching. Teachers chose the focus area. Some include: writing instruction, behavior strategies/classroom management, myView reading core instruction, math instruction/small groups

Middle School Principal

Interventions- 3 classrooms during 4th period working with High Ability Learning/Math Extra instruction/Reading Extra instruction
NSCAS testing is all completed for Fall 2022; we will be able to dive deeper into their scores to drive instruction
PreAct/PSAT will be administered on Oct. 12th for 10th and 11th graders/ Test materials are ordered and will be here 2 weeks prior to testing.

Director of School Improvement / Special Education
Continuous Improvement:

The CIP Leadership Team has meet twice since the beginning of the school year. There are three subcommittees: Instruction, Social/Emotional Learning/School Mental Health, and Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBiS). Teams will meet as a Leadership Team and subcommittees monthly.
Secondary staff (6-12) are meeting in collaborative teams to discuss student needs, curriculum, share instructional strategies, etc. They will meet two times per month.

Elementary teachers participated in a study with UNL last year- Photos of WWPS will be included in a publication that will be distributed worldwide.

Special Education

The second year of Communities of Practice (COP) has been scheduled with ESU 3-Training for special education teachers in the rural districts.
Planning to meet monthly with para-educators for training.

Sixpence/Bright Arrows Childcare

Quarterly Early Childhood/Sixpence Meeting held on 9/19 (Conestoga and Weeping Water): Program updates, Celebrations, and Gaps/Barriers are included in the agenda.
Actively recruiting Sixpence eligible families
September Engagement/Socialization -will be a tailgate at the Homecoming football game.
