6. Student's Report
Discussion:
October Student Report - School Board and City Council Meetings -
At SHS we have a lot to celebrate. We had a great Homecoming week. Aaron Schaff and Ashley Grasmick were named king and queen, we had a great community turn out for the parade and rally, and we sold over 450 tickets for the student dance. AFJROTC visited Warren Air Force base in Cheyenne, over 80 students participated. Last week over 20 students attended the Health Sciences Day at Chadron State College. This past weekend our HOSA organization volunteered at the RWMC drive-through clinic and are also lending their services to SBPS for health screenings. In addition to all these things, our Girls Golf Team recently won Districts and is currently competing for their 3rd state championship, and our Girls Softball team won Districts for the first time in 10 years. Math club recently competed at the Omaha Math Competition, we not only won our division but we finished with the highest all-class score. In addition, we qualified nine students in the top 50 of the competition. Finally, we are honored to name John Mentgen as an NSAA Believer and Achiever, out of 600 student-athletes, only 48 students are selected for this honor. |
