Scottsbluff High School Sophomore Sophia Schmall provided an update to the Board of Education. Sophia stated the high school students had a very good start to the school year, with a great turnout of both students and parents for the SHS Open House. She stated Chromebook checkouts, school pictures, and class meetings all went well, and high school students are now entering their fifth full week of school. The SHS Band recently participated in the University of Wyoming Field Day and ACT/PreAct testing will take place on Wednesday, September 16. Sophia stated that the students are looking forward to a great Homecoming week and are celebrating with a Back to the 80s theme. Sophia added that, unfortunately, they have yet to find a DeLorean. She noted activities have had a great start to their respective seasons, and the student section is thriving. Sophia stated the students are looking forward to carrying on the tradition of success at SHS with an amazing 2026-2027 school year. She thanked the Board for their continued support and leadership, and for providing great opportunities for all students.
