Bellevue East students competed in the State Academic Decathlon on February 22, 2014. Kevin Pflager was the 1st place gold medal winner in the Varsity Speech competition and 3rd place bronze medal winner in the Varsity Economics. George Timmins was the 2nd place silver medal winner in Scholastic Essay. The student with the highest score at each school was awarded a gold medal, for Bellevue East that was Kelly Speltz, an Honors competitor.
