• LB 495 was advanced to General File by the Education Committee; it is a designated Speaker priority bill. LB 495 would provide funds from the Education Innovation Fund (lottery proceeds) to support the Early Childhood Education Grant Program

Rationale:  Team visiting Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson High School regarding their Chromebook Teaching & Learning Initiative.

• Team of 10 to include Board, Administration, Core High School Teachers, and Technology staff
• Each of the core teachers will be provided with a set of Chromebooks for their classroom as a pilot - as soon as they arrive and into the first semester of 2013-2014.
• Core teachers will be provided classrooms support in the integration of technology tools
• High School staff will share information about instructional practices and all high school staff will be provided with ongoing professional development 
• High School staff and administration will determine next steps with students.

Rationale:  The board may need to move into Executive Session for the purpose of discussion of certified staff contract negotiations and for personnel matters.

Rationale:  Adoption and purchase of the 3-5 language arts curriculum that Bob presented last meeting is on the business meeting agenda for approval tonight.
