Rationale:

4.B. Public Hearing regarding the 2020 One & Six Year Plans for Highway, Roads, and Street Improvements.
Discussion:
The Public Hearing was opened at 6:04pm. Mike Malone with JEO described features and benefits of roundabouts. Crete Planning Commission Chair Dave Hansen asked if roundabouts provide additional pedestrian safety. School Board Member Greg Hollman asked that the Iris Ave. roundabout be wide enough to serve trucks with trailers and stated that he was in favor of the proposed roundabout near the High School. The Public Hearing was closed at 6:18pm.

Rationale:

6. Officers' Reports
Rationale:
Reports may be given by Department Heads, Committees and Council members concerning current operations of the City. Questions may be asked and answered. No action can be taken by the Council on matters presented under this title except to answer any question posed and to refer the matter for further action.
Discussion:
Library Director Joy Stevenson reported that the library has added 60 new patrons since opening the new library. They had 1000 patron visits from Thursday through Monday after opening the new library. They are presently offering the annual income tax classes. Council Members Oelschlager and Carnes reported they have had very positive comments regarding the new library building. Tom Ourada reported that the City is working on a new well and that the Interlocal storm shelter committee has been formed.

7. Adjournment
Rationale:
The city council will review the above matters and take such actions as they deem appropriate. The city council may enter into closed session to discuss any matter on this agenda when it is determined by the council that it is clearly necessary for protection of the public interest or the prevention of needless injury to the reputation of an individual and if such and individual has not requested a public meeting, or as otherwise allowed by law. Any closed session shall be limited to the subject matter for which the closed session was called. If the motion to close passes, then the presiding officer immediately prior to the closed session shall restate on the record the limitation of the subject matter of the closed session. The City of Crete assures that no person shall on the grounds of race, color, national origin, age, disability, handicap or sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any program or activity of the City receiving Federal financial assistance.
