Discussion:
Tina gave her report. Monthly duties included: removing tumbleweeds and trash, watering flowerbeds, mowing and trimming, and pulling up stickers. Sprinklers have been adjusted. Wade Viter came to remove the old cedar tree on the northwest corner of FB field. A new mower got delivered today -- August 12th. All service will be done through Kubota. Will get charged for a bagger next month.

7.2. Transportation Report - D.R.
Discussion:
Dan gave his report. All bus routes have been covered for the school year. All drivers will get Level 1 training by the end of August. Still looking for a couple more CDL drivers. Dan would recommend expanding our fleet vehicles, as finding CDL drivers for buses is difficult. May need to get more 11 passenger vans. Drivers Education had 17 students go through. It was a great success. Seven drivers need to still go through the driving tests. So far everyone has passed! Most vehicles have all been DOT certified, just a few more to go.

7.3. Building Maintenance Report - R.S.
Discussion:
Superintendent Foster gave Ryan's report. All lights have been switched to LED lights, except for the bathroom, cafeteria, and three classrooms. Laid new carpet throughout the building and stair treads on both set of steps. Hung up new markerboards and smartboards. Kept very busy this summer helping with construction.

Discussion:
Superintendent gave Mr. Seamann's report. Full practice for football, cross country, and volleyball have started. Football and volleyball scrimmages will be Friday August 23rd. The first official contests for the Fall sports scheduled are the following: Cross Country- August 29th in Curtis, Football- August 29th at home, Volleyball - Sept 3rd at Perkins Co. Both gym floors were done over the Summer. The old gym looks fabulous and the new gym looks like there is a film on top. After conversation, it might have been due to humidity. Mike will be coming back on August 16th to redo the new gym at no cost.

7.5. Principal's Report
Discussion:
Mr. Larson gave his report. He started off his report by thanking the board and Superintendent Mrs. Foster for allowing him to go to Admin Day's in Kearney, at the end of July, along with attending professional development with ESU 16 on August 5th. Mr. Larson went through what he learned during his breakout sessions including: Supporting Staff and Student Well-Being, Parent Notices, ACT changes, NSCAS updates, Rule 10, Title IX, Leadership with strength and honor, Special Education, KSB school Law, Personal Climate and Culture. At ESU 16 he learned more about the eduCLIMBER software.

7.6. Superintendent's Report
Discussion:
Superintendent Foster gave her report and started off with an update on the Strategic Plan. The priority focus is Climate and Culture. Two values that the staff came up with were family and integrity. August 12th was welcome back for teachers. August 13th is our meet and greet from 5-7. August 15th is first day of school with a 1:00 dismissal. Total enrollment is at 186. 35% option enrollment. Another grant of distance education of $5,696.70 and our safety grand funds will be getting deposited into our account today!

Discussion:
The Finance Committee met before the board meeting. General Fund is under budget 26.88%. Lunch Fund is under budget 29.08%. Four checks will get printed on Tuesday, August 13th: Julie Hoaglund 3rd/last payment for health insurance $9,546.70, Don and Connie Hansen $500 check-parking lot, Kubota- North Platte mower $7,993.72, and ALICAP Insurance. A few invoice comments: Girls Basketball Uniforms were ordered, Hudl streaming got purchased, an annual fee, Amazon included May and August receipts, and the new telephone system will come out of the safety grant.

Discussion:
The Safety and Security Office construction is just about wrapped up. Counter tops for the front office is on back order and will be here mid-September. A temp counter top is installed for now. Finishing touches will be completed. The new window will be coming in for Mrs. Foster's office, along with the new keyless entry doors. The PA system will be installed later this fall or winter.

Tyler Brown from Phares with Colonial Life came to discuss Life Insurance for employees. It would cost the district $2 an employee for anyone that takes it for $10,000. An employee would be able to pay more up to $75,000 based on age. Any life insurance over $75,000 requires health questions.

Discussion:
Deanna Anderson is requesting to have her property taxes be moved to the Brady School district. They are currently in Lincoln County but were moved to the Gothenburg School district many years ago. In order for the taxes to be moved back to Brady Public Schools, a 2/3 majority vote in favor of moving the parcel back to Brady Public Schools will need to occur from the Brady Board of Education and the Gothenburg Board of Education. The board will show their support and approve this decision.
