Discussion:
Tina Golter gave her report. Tina did a final mow on the football field. Trash and leaf pick up is continuing. The sprinklers will be winterized on November 12th.

7.2. Transportation Report - D.R.
Discussion:
Dan Robison gave his report. There has been some replacement of parts for some vehicles. A new sign was put up on the playground fence to show office and activity entrance. New tobacco and bus signs were put up. Need to consider replacing the old suburban, as it is close to 285,000 miles. Also, we need to consider adding to our small bus fleet. A bus driver is not required to have a CDL license for the small bus, and having an extra small bus would really help during sport season. A big thank you to Bob Fattig for volunteering his time to paint the front curb yellow.

7.3. Building Maintenance Report - R.S.
Discussion:
Superintendent Foster gave Ryan's report. Cooling tower was shut down for the winter. The equipment was completed for the ESU in the distant learning room. The new PA System was completed throughout the school and speakers installed in the gyms and playground. Platte Valley came and installed outside LED lights. Rapid Fire came and did all the back flow testing for the sprinklers. The boiler inspection was also completed and passed inspection.

7.4. Activities Report - A.S.
Discussion:
Andy Seamann gave his report. Fall sports have completed and winter sports start on November 18th. Wanted to recognize the volleyball team for completing 20 wins for the first time since 2018. October gate totaled $2975 and officials totaled $2420 with a profit of $555. Mr. Seamann went to an AD meeting in Kearney on Wednesday. A couple items that would affect the district if they got passed. During the first round of passing, the situation for distance of 184 miles for district final games would be erased, and the higher seed would host instead. Another item being considered is having the districts be reorganized. If it passes, Brady district would get moved to D6. These will have to get passed three more times to be officially approved.

Discussion:
Mr. Larson gave his report. He started off his report by reporting to the board the incident reports in eduCLIMBER. These reports will help with PBIS incentitives. Pre-ACT had 95.24% attendance. Mr. Larson thanked the board for approving the hire of Maggie Burke. She has been a great help with technology needs.

7.6. Superintendent's Report
Discussion:
Superintendent Foster started off her report on an update on grants. ESSERS funding was completed and money was deposited. Currently, waiting on the Mapping Grant and will be submitting a grant for new stage lighting and FAFSA scholarship night. Legislative changes have emphasized the need to phase out 12 passenger vans in schools and short buses are about two years out. The Gothenburg route uses the district's only van and it is full. The need for alternative transportation is a must. Mrs. Foster was a selected superintendent in the state to be on a finance committee with Governor Jim Pillen. Their last meeting was on November 4th and covered many topics surrounding school finance. Determining values within the school is still being worked on by the staff and students.

The Board would like to recognize Mrs. Simants for spearheading the Family Fun Night on Thursday, November 7th. We had a terrific turnout and appreciate the help from the PK-6 teaching staff and STUCO for helping support and run this event! Well done!

Discussion:
Bryan Franzen gave this report. The following are items that the certified staff is requesting for 25-26 negotiating agreement. Increase the amount of pay for Science Olympiad. Currently, on the sponsor side and wants to be on the coaching side. Add $1000 on the base. Add a step or column or both on the pay scale. Increase the hourly teacher sub during plan rate to $25. Adding flex days/PTO days instead of sick days. Pay for unused sick days upon retiring.
The negotiation committee has their ideas on how to go about deciding, and the teachers will come back with more of a report on how everything reads. The district is currently on the low side of the pay scale. |

Discussion:
General Fund is under budget by 5.48% and Lunch Fund is under budget by 4.76%. EduTrak, the online payment for lunch fund, is going very well. The negative lunch list is down tremendously since last year.
Brady GetNGo check $2,934.94 will be paid this month and will be added to December check register. In-School Banking, the account for the elementary student deposits, was added as a sub-account in the activity fund per the auditors request. Looking at our Dawson Public Power bill, electricity went down with the LED lighting- approximately $1,000 from last November. |

Discussion:
Alexis came as the Student Member of the Board. She is in 10th grade. Currently in volleyball, one act, speech, basketball and track. Ryan Stearns asked her why she wanted to be student member of the board. Alexis answered by saying this was her first full year at Brady Public Schools, and she wanted to learn more about the school. The board also introduced themselves to Alexis.

By statute, this report is required 2x a year. This is a report of how we are fulfilling the state statute.
Brady Public Schools embraces the responsibility to ensure that our students are given the opportunity to pursue and fulfill the obligations and intent of 79- 724. We are determined in our continuous pursuit to provide our students with opportunities to understand, engage, and prosper as American citizens. Our commitment to instill students with the knowledge of our nation's history, government function, geography, and economic systems is of the highest priority. Our teachers hold themselves accountable in adhering to the Americanism Act as can be evidenced in lesson planning and lesson delivery. 8.1. Staff Resignations
Discussion:
We have three staff resignations: two due to retirement and one due to moving. The administration values early notification as it allows ample time to fill these rolls. We appreciate their years of service to the district and wish them well in the next chapter of their lives. They have all served the Brady School District well, and we are grateful to each of them. The resignation letters were attached for the board to review.
Val Pohlman will be retiring at the end of this year after 29 years of service at Brady Public Schools. Beth Boden will be retiring at the end of this year after 41 years of service at Brady Public Schools. Jamie Shaner will be resigning at the end of this school year. |

We had another very successful audit. The only findings for the year is a lack of segregation of duties because we only employ one bookkeeper.

8.3. Bus Route Pay
Discussion:
Instead of having bus drivers clock in and out, the Finance Committee proposes having bus route as an extra duty and setting it at a flat rate. The flat rate is set based on the average hours the bus route runs and includes pre and post inspection time. This will be a benefit, so the bus drivers can continue to do their full time position and not worry about overtime.
North Platte: $50 / Route Maxwell: $40 / Route South Route: $30 / Route Gothenburg: $25 / Route Each route runs twice daily, an AM Route and a PM Route. |

8.4. Proposed contract with Engineered Controls
Discussion:
The proposal is to automatically shut down and restart the cooling tower based on the temperature of the building. Currently, Ryan Sanger is manually shutting it down in the winter, which causes the district to have zero A/C in the building until spring. In the winter time, if a room has high attendance, A/C might be needed to cool down the room. The total would be $18,950, which the district has enough in the Depreciation fund to cover.
