Discussion:  Presented by Sexton - 1st Team All-State Football Omaha and Lincoln Journal.

5.1. Superintendent Report

Discussion:  Buy Local staff did with Chamber of Commerce during Nov 18 to December 20. Total amount turned in was $69,999. BPS made $207,000.00 economic impact on our community. December board meeting Jim making changes in his live. Jim shared that they would be leaving to move to Lincoln and submitted his resignation. He read his letter at end of January he will be effective. His comments - Double the support from the community. Appreciates all of them. Enjoyed working with the Board members over the years can have a common goal for our students, may have different path but must have common goal. Pat comments - on action will have an approval to accept his resignation. Pat has looked at board policy and state staute. Must fill within 45 days which is March 17th. Must be filled by qualified registered voter within the district. There are some things that board will need to review to see their options. Committee of the Whole we will discuss this. Keep in mind the move from 9 to 6 member board. The Cerfifications for says 4 open positions and the let them knowing that they will only have 1 position open. More than 2 must be on a primary ballot if 2 or or less they can be general. election. Executieve Session

8.4. Approval of the depository banks for Beatrice Public Schools be named as Pinnacle Bank, Security First Bank, First National Bank of Omaha-Beatrice Branch and Bank of the West.
8.5. Approval that all meetings held by the Beatrice Board of Education be publicized in advance in the Beatrice Daily Sun and on KWBE radio
9. Recognition of Outgoing Board Member
Speaker(s):  Mr. Nauroth
Discussion:  Plaque was presented by Mr. Nauroth. Tour of community by Jim. So gracious telling us all about the school and community. Commitment to students and interest in the building knows names of staff and students. Serious about his position on the board and has had a positive impact. Thanks for leadership and friendship. Wished him the best in his endevors.
10. Administrators' Report
Discussion:  Jason - Conversation on Martin Luther King we will have school. Have speaker Arron Davis speak to all high school. Lesson from Dr. King in Social Studies and invited board at 9:00 on Monday.
