        Rationale:
Attached is the newly suggested Wellness Policy with additional items highlighted.  This is the policy that was suggested from the lawyers to replace our existing policy and one in which we feel needs to be adopted.  The question of Open vs. Closed campus will no longer be a part of this policy, and was suggested by the committee that if we want to keep that the board needs to set a separate policy or have it placed in the handbook instead.

        Rationale:
Elementary Principal's Report April 2017 Random Acts of Kindness Students were challenged by Mrs. Simmons to do "Random Acts of Kindness" during the past few weeks of guidance classes. The students who completed the challenge worked with Mrs. Simmons to come up with a full week of activities to celebrate "Kindness Counts Week". On "Manners Monday", Jordyn Falkenstine and Sadie Pritchard will provide teachers with Easter eggs filled with ideas on how you could do a random act of kindness using your manners. Students will engage in a classroom egg hunt to start off the activity. "Thankful Tuesday" will be led by Emma Largent and Caitlyn Hindal. They will have an appreciation station set up in the lunchroom for students to send out a thank you card to someone. "What Can I Do To Help Wednesday" will be led by Yancy Welsh and Alexa Goosic. They will encourage students to ask others what they can do to help. They will be helping me by leading the Wellness Wednesday dance during our morning meeting. We will conclude our week with "Thoughtful Thursday" led by Allison Boettcher and Mrs. Simmons. They will be showing this video to show how easy it is to be thoughtful. Please take a minute to enjoy the video they selected. www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwAYpLVyeFU Kindergarten Round Up Kindergarten Round Up is scheduled for Thursday, April 13th.
