6. Ace Recipients Recognition
Rationale:
Logan Wentworth was selected as the March ACE of the Month. He received a nomination from Mrs. Einspahr and also three "Way to Go" tickets from Mrs. Guge. Logan earned an A on his Math test and has been working well with French vocabulary in class. Way to go!
Lyra Peterman was selected for the Elementary ACE this month. Lyra demonstrated respect for others as she helped her classmate with an activity. Mrs. Kwiatkowski shared how Lyra is always a great helper to her peers and teacher. Way to go! |

Rationale:
Attached is the newly suggested Wellness Policy with additional items highlighted. This is the policy that was suggested from the lawyers to replace our existing policy and one in which we feel needs to be adopted. The question of Open vs. Closed campus will no longer be a part of this policy, and was suggested by the committee that if we want to keep that the board needs to set a separate policy or have it placed in the handbook instead.

Gina prefers to go through CashWa. I would like to order Tilting Skillet and the Gas range immediately so we can get it installed as soon as school is out this spring. I would wait and order the Convection Oven to make sure we have the money available this fiscal year.

Rationale:
Mr. Meyer returns to Franklin Public Schools in a new position as our Middle School Math teacher. Mr. Meyer originally taught in Franklin from 1997 to 2001 and was a football and wrestling coach during that time. He left Franklin Public Schools in order for his wife to pursue her career. He will be coming back to Franklin to coach football in some capacity (that is still being determined as he doesn't necessarily want to be the head coach since he will have a son playing). He and his wife have three boys and plan to live within the community.

12. Elementary Principal's Report
Rationale:
Elementary Principal's Report April 2017 Random Acts of Kindness Students were challenged by Mrs. Simmons to do "Random Acts of Kindness" during the past few weeks of guidance classes. The students who completed the challenge worked with Mrs. Simmons to come up with a full week of activities to celebrate "Kindness Counts Week". On "Manners Monday", Jordyn Falkenstine and Sadie Pritchard will provide teachers with Easter eggs filled with ideas on how you could do a random act of kindness using your manners. Students will engage in a classroom egg hunt to start off the activity. "Thankful Tuesday" will be led by Emma Largent and Caitlyn Hindal. They will have an appreciation station set up in the lunchroom for students to send out a thank you card to someone. "What Can I Do To Help Wednesday" will be led by Yancy Welsh and Alexa Goosic. They will encourage students to ask others what they can do to help. They will be helping me by leading the Wellness Wednesday dance during our morning meeting. We will conclude our week with "Thoughtful Thursday" led by Allison Boettcher and Mrs. Simmons. They will be showing this video to show how easy it is to be thoughtful. Please take a minute to enjoy the video they selected. www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwAYpLVyeFU Kindergarten Round Up Kindergarten Round Up is scheduled for Thursday, April 13th. We are expecting 16 students at this time. Students and parents will enjoy lunch at the school following classroom activities and a parent meeting.
NeSA, ACT, and MAPS Testing Students have began NeSA testing in grade 3rd-8th in the areas of Math and Reading. Science is also tested at 5th and 8th grade levels. The ACT will be given to all 11th graders on April 19th. This will be the first time the state has required all Juniors across the state to take the ACT test. MAPS Testing will conclude the testing season in May.
