Discussion:
We are not taking families to small claims court who are struggling. These are families that do not qualify for free and reduced and have not paid in a long time. Also, we have worked with these families for a year to set up payment plans and little progress has been made. These accounts roll over from year to year. The total balance that we are trying to collect is approximately $17,000. The school was contacted today about a grant through Edge that would help pay for meals for all children up to 4 years. It is made very clear that the board supports our students and that all children eat daily. As a board, we feel that it is not fair to alienate any child because of an outstanding bill. Each child is fed the same.

Discussion:
I will be meeting with Building and Grounds to discuss upcoming projects and am still working on getting ahold of a company for the High School Roof. I still haven't heard back from them. The joint public hearing is September 22, 2026. Reminder: September 28th, we will be doing our tax hearing and budget hearing and approving the budget. Omaha Christian Academy is interested in joining the NCEC Conference. On October 2nd and 5th, the Superintendent will be gone. The state conference registration is open, and we want the board to be aware and need to know whether you will be attending. It is November 18th & 20th.
