III.A. Superintendent
Discussion:
Building project update: Anticipating ground breaking at end of June or early July. RaDec has asked for a week extension on the gather of prices for materials (GMP). The plan is to move in and start the 2020-21 school year. Memorial Walk will be held Wednesday and students have been sent home permission slips. Staff may attend, if they are able to provide coverage for classroom.
Ms. Daniels is working with Mr. Hayes, during this transition. School personnel have volunteered to host a Benefit meal and silent auction, in the Multi-purpose room for Mrs. Crosley and Mrs. Droby, as they experienced flood damage to their homes, during the flood in March. MTSS workshop here on the May 29 and June 5. All staff are encouraged to attend. |

III.A.1. Progress Plan Update
Discussion:
Priority Plan update from Mrs. Nagel: Members of the team are here with us at today's board meeting, Dr. Shirley Vargas, and Dr. Kennedy. We have spent time with admin going over the priority plan and how to move forward. Recommendation is to revise the middle school priority plan and continue with it in a new way, with the addition of the elementary and high school. We do not know yet what this looks like, if it's 3 separate plans versus one plan and action will not be taken until the state board meeting in June.
President Moose asked Shirley Vargas our NDE Coordinator to share out information from her meeting with Tribal Chairman, Don Pike and himself, she said they talked about the importance of culture and language sustainability in our school. Mentioned that Misty Thomas's presentation as aligning well with this discussion. The vision, partners and needing to use resources such as the radio station. How to consider the voices in the priority school plan. How to tighten the communication process. A Tribal representative will be invited to each board meeting and a school board member and a leadership team member will go to the Tribal Council meetings. Whatever perception exists in the community, we need to help rewrite that perception between the community and the school. We need to maintain our information collection so we can keep showing our journey through the priority plan. |

III.A.2. Principal
Discussion:
Kindergarten round-up: 19 students registered and 16 attended. Potentially we could have 21 students in the kindergarten class. We have end of the year celebrations taking place, and incentive trips for students, she extended a thank you to the board for allowing this. We will be having staff meetings over the next days regarding transitions through grade levels. CKLA (Amplify) PD is in place. We will have two onsite sessions, K-2 (June 3) and 3-6 (June 4). DIBELS traing in August. Summer School sessions are organized and first session is June 3-27; second session runs from July 8-30. Everyone in the community is welcome to attend summer school. Mrs. Nielsen said all students staying on and living with a relative can attend summer school.
