III. Intervention hires - 3 para educators and 1 certified staff member
Discussion:
Administration is requesting 3 additional paraprofessionals to support interventions for the 19-20 school year. Ms. Nagel, interviewed and they would come on board, after training and start in Fall. Information for trainings will come with MTSS, Heather Robbins-contracted with NDE, Megan McGlone. We are waiting for ESU1, they are assiting n the hiriing of a Behavioral Teacher?

IV. Stipend for doctorate degress
Discussion:
The administration is asking the school board to consider offering a 5,000 yearly stipend for teachers who have obtained their doctorate. This will allow the school to hire teachers with terminal degrees. We had a Zoom interview for HS ELA. to bring our salary in-line to have a high level of education and structure. Had alot of experience, with culture. Mr. Hayes said ecellent candidate. Has a passion for kids. It's late in the game and he recommends hiring her also.

V. Johnson 0'Malley funding
Discussion:
A JOM handout was given to the board and discussion held about the monies we've received in the last 4 years. Jan. of 2018, we received monies for 2016-17 at the rate of approximately $41.00 per student. We received monies in September of 2013 for the 2012-13 school year for the same
Steve will reach out to Tribal Chairman, requesting help in SCS receiving those monies. . |
VI. 2019-2020 Calendar
Discussion:
School calendar has been developed by the WIT Resource Team.
Steve asked if there were Spring Breaks, it was explained that the No School-Make up days were traditionally Spring Break. |
VII. Student Handbooks
Discussion:
Student Handbook was given in board packet. Would like to approve it with additions as needed for new staff hires and the back pages for parent student signature page for field trip, counseling, interenet usage etc would be added. Is graduation - attendance gor Seniors in the handbooks. Yes page 21.

VIII. Rule 10 Compliance corrective actions
Discussion:
Ms. Daniels went through the corrective actions that we will take for the Rule 10 violations. In the packet was summary of compliance check, and there were areas we weren't surprised by and some we were. We have 30 days, to respond. There will be final email sent to NDE with responses for corrective actions.

IX. Exit Surveys
Discussion:
Ms. Daniels would like the Board to review a sample exit survey that could be administered to teachers leaving the district. Are their additions or deletions needed?

Discussion:
Was on FMLA and submitted her resignation for custodial.

XI. Open positions
Discussion:
We have the following open positions: Science, HS English Language Arts, High School Counselor, Kindergarten, Special Education (3 teachers)
Industrial Technology, Instructional Coach, Early Childhood. We have expanded our options for advertising and reaching out to other resources to fill positions. |
XII. Principal hire
Discussion:
Mr. Hayes had 9 applicants, he interviewed 4. He recommends Manee Lor, she is endorse with a Reading Specialist Degree, English Language Learner and ELementary. Move here with two children, live in one of the teacherage.

XIII. SEA - Contract Days
Discussion:
SEA presented data on Days missed-12 days
7 Weather related, 1 Closed due to Illness, 4 Flooding due to no electricity and running water. 5 days have already been made up. There is still 7 days make up days. Each teacher will need to submit a plan to Ms. Daniels on how they will make up their days. Submit by May 31 and completed by July 15, 2019. Request that Board help out and forgive a couple of days. For those resigning, they would pay back. NDE-would like staff to be at the MTSS days. SIS - training. 6-8 and admin will be trained and the focus groups will take it back to their groups to train. |
