Hayes, Marcia Herring, Linda Richards,Ron Meyer, Angie Corderman, Joan Stewart, Cindy Nagel, and Ruth Bathke. Along with 4 board members. Marcia asked if anyone wanted to share the postitives that have been happening, what we are celebrating, what is the progress, what is the concern consumes thoughts. -the board is more collaborative and getting on the same page. Was miles apart on policy. -concern: the phone isn’t ringing as in the past. It’s a good concern! -doing things at warp speed. Having crucial conversations, educating whole child behavior, attendance and data. Making decisions around that. -The concerns: if growing you are uncomfortable. We have it happening, it's good but be careful so they don't revert. Such as going back to talking to the board. -Working with Ann and Linda is challenging -The admin team. Dealing with stumbling blocks. Other districts are having this happening. As change is happening what helps us navigate this? -In board meetings, or communicating with students; the culture aspect has been a positive influence. Opening avenues and windows with our children. As they aren’t being taught at home, being able to teach the values that we have hung on our walls. Celebrating and trust the process. Trust with the past history for things that haven’t occurred and did occur, Linda stated that she is sorry for the past. And appreciates the trust that is being shared. It’s heavy on our hearts. Everything is built on trust. -Culture is being shared not only with students, but as a staff. It’s bringing a lot of value, sharing what the culture has to offer and helping the whole child. Change, react or respond. It’s best to step back, think and respond. Celebration is happening in our buildings. -Is the board aware of the staff is seeing the assessment data and making decisions off of it? -Day to day instruction and data is to empower students -MTSS - using data to impact students and challenging them by asking them what next. -Data - is moving (mentioned the diamond effect) focusing more detail and descriptive. -Interventions: please keep board engaged in what it is the strategies we are using, and how the math curriculum is helping students. Is our curriculum supporting what we need to do. -EC learning center is full. 20- infants to toddler sharing two rooms; major concern is space. Not sure EC is being understood by everyone It’s so different, that ELE or MS. Looking at data. -Rule 11 is different. Sharing and helping admin learn about it, will be important. -New business manager has come on board. Working late nights, creating stability and systems for the office. |
