Discussion:
High School Principal, Ruth LaPlante explained that students will place their phones in a hanging folder that stays in the Principal's office. They will be able to get their phones at lunch. Elementary/Middle School Principal, Cindy Nagel said that they did that for the middle school, and they did not have any issues with the students not wanting to hand in their phones.
Mr. LaPlante asked what the reprimand would be if a teacher did not take the students' phones. He stated that we also need to hold the teachers accountable. Mrs.Nagel stated that the only time a student would be able to use their phones in class is if it is pre-authorized. Teachers will also be held accountable and will only be able to use them during their plan period.
