Discussion:
Byron Copeland (Facility Advocates)- New Construction Project Process - newspaper ESCO request for qualifications. Two weeks posted, September board meeting pick ESCO - after September there will be Architect and Engineering Fees - 2 to 3 month process, hopefully by January contract for work to begin summer 2025, exterior wall bumped out and enclose south building to main building.

IX.A. Superintendent and Progress Plan Update
Discussion:
Supt. Shepard shared information about the audit report and complimented our custodian and summer workers. It was a good first day. There is open gym for basketball at night in the multi-purpose room as the gym is set up for volleyball season. He explained the reasoning behind the early outs for the first week of school.

IX.B. Preschool, Elementary/MS Principal and High School Principal
Discussion:
Mrs. Nagel shared the Elementary had a great start. Professional Development Days, classrooms look great, moved 3rd & 5th grade classrooms to the South Building. Smart Boards installed. Cell phones are handed in at breakfast. Hoodies not allowed in classrooms, update on student attendance,
Mrs. LaPlante enrollment in the high school is 47 students. attendance, hoodies, backpacks, vape detectors, closed campus for lunch, tardy procedure starts during our first full week. Attendance Clerk will be going to try and pick up kids. Waylon expressed concerns for attendance when students leave for lunch. Society of Care will have suicide prevention activities in September. |
