President Opela called the budget hearing of the Stapleton Public Schools Board of Education to order at 7:00 p.m. on September 18, 2020, in the library at Stapleton Public Schools.

Ash Ramirez asked the board if there is a plan in place for children arriving at school when winter is here and if they will have to wait outside to have temps taken or if they can come in the building when temps are colder.

Discussion:
Lacy Kinderknecht gave her Community Liaison's report which included: parents connected to Class Dojo, voting on junior chamber members, Spelling Bee January 27th, Geography Bee January 13, elementary celebrations video, Kids of Character slips continuing with Respectful, Accountable, Responsible and Empathetic, Stapleton School Improvement Committee meetings, Stapleton Education Association grant with match from NSEA toward postage, brochure printing, fees for voter registration lists, etc, and continuing to work with the local newspaper for stories.

Activities Director Report
Discussion:
The Activities Director's report given by Jason Wehnes included the following: everything seems to be going well and we are still in school which is great, great success in cross country, volleyball is competitive with growth, football is working hard and doing well, and obtaining Striv for watching games/activities online.

Principal Walker's report included: student enrollment and staff numbers, parent-teacher conferences, preschool professional development, secondary principal certificate, MAPS testing is completed, ACT test will be administered, and Title IX.

The School Improvement and Curriculum Committee is waiting to meet.

The American Civics Committee is planning a meeting on September 22, 2020.

The Transportation Committee has been looking at some bids for a new bus that would be purchased through the bus grant. |
