President Opela called the regular meeting of the Stapleton Public Schools Board of Education to order at 77:00 p.m. on Monday, October 18, 2021, in the library at Stapleton Public Schools.

Discussion:
The treasurer's report was presented by Superintendent Redinger.

Community Liaison
Discussion:
Bryan Regier gave his Community Liaisons' report which included: elementary Halloween parade and parade on October 27th, junior chamber members were selected by the Chamber, one-act soup supper will be held on November 23rd, spelling bee will be held on January 12th, the geography bee has been permanently canceled by the company, band placed 1st in Class D at UNK Band Day, and received an excellent at the Minden Bandfest.

Activities Director Report
Discussion:
The Activities Director's report given by Eric Kloke included the following: homecoming went well, congratulations to the football team for making playoffs, and Colin Rooney and Jared Trimble for qualifying for State cross country, pep rally for send off of football team and cross country qualifiers, volleyball has made some great strides this year and placed 5th at MNAC conference, update team banners in gym and after fall sports are done start working on stats and record boards.

Principal Walker's report included: evaluations, NSCAS testing, inservice for Edventure in Sutherland, revised NDE English language arts standards and parent-teacher conferences Thursday, October 28th, 7:40 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Board Committee Reports: Civics, Building and Grounds (November: Technology)
Discussion:
Steve Schaeffer presented highlights from the Foundation meeting and what community money is being used for with scholarships and staff equipment and supplies requests.
Kristy Opela provided information on the Civics Committee. The Buildings and Grounds Committee met and discussed the new addition, new locker rooms, entrance steps, outside lighting, drainage in the back of the school, trophy cabinets and short and long term projects. |
