President F. Kramer called the regular meeting of the Stapleton Public Schools Board of Education to order at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 20, 2023, in the library at Stapleton Public Schools.

Duane McClain, representing the Stapleton School Foundation, updated on the success of the Gala and expressed his thoughts regarding items on the agenda. Scott Gaites addressed the board regarding the condition of the shot put and discuss ring. |

Discussion:
Bryan Regier gave his Community Liaisons' report which included: Foundation Gala success, updating the website and Facebook page, sending pictures and stories to the newspaper, Chamber meeting, Easter Egg Hunt, Wednesday, April 5th for Preschool through 4th grade, and Community Cleanup Day on Thursday, April 20th from 1:00-4:00 p.m.

Activities Director Report
Discussion:
The Activities Director's report given by Eric Kloke included the following: winter sports wrap up with boys basketball ending season with 9-14 record, MNAC Conference Basketball Awards: Jaylen Dimmitt (1st team), Abigale Nicholson (honorable mention), Kyle Kramer (2nd team), Caleb Burnside (honorable mention), Cooper Layher (honorable mention), spring sports preview, State Speech qualifiers: Cayson Johnston, Tessa Hansen, Tad Dimmitt, Emmalee Nicholson, Cameron Berliner with Cayson receiving 6th place in extemporaneous. Congratulations to all these students. Quiz Bowl contests have begun also.

Principal Gleisberg's report included: current enrollment, instruction evaluations, curriculum, February 20 In-Service, Arbor Day Presentation, and NPCC Inter-High Day,

Board Committee Reports: Building and Grounds, Coop (April: Transportation, Foundation)
Discussion:
The Buidlings and Grounds Committee met and highlights were presented: electrical needs, painting needs, landscaping at superintendent's residence, concrete work to be done, parking lot rock, and finish covering the building with cameras.
Coop committee highlights: JH football looking at going back to 6-man with upcoming numbers, consistent coaching and websites, and upcoming renewal date for coop is November 12th this year. |

Superintendent Redinger's report presented information on the following: building plans, truck and trailer needed to haul out accumulated metal, plans for family trip, renewal of teacher contract, and attending upcoming NRCSA convention.

Discussion was held regarding a sports program with McPherson County Public Schools. Items included utilizing administration more, sharing resources, sharing school schedules, transportation, player development and revisiting by-laws. With Stapleton's shorter school day this will create more of a delay before start of daily practice.
