Discussion:
President F. Kramer called the regular meeting of the Stapleton Public Schools Board of Education to order at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2023, in the library at Stapleton Public Schools.

Discussion:
Opela presented highlights from the NRCSA convention with topics on Superintendent evaluation form, keynote speakers and topics, teaching certificates obtained in other states, age deadline for going to kindergarten, homeschooling verification, what makes a good board member, hot topics in school law, dress code, LB 575, non-renewal of certified staff, enrollment issues and obtain records before admitting, 5004 Option Enrollment Policy, and hand-writing thank you's.

Discussion:
The treasurer's report was presented by Superintendent Redinger.

Community Liaison
Discussion:
The Community Liaisons' report was given by Supt. Redinger which included: Chamber's Easter Egg Hunt organized by Junior Chamber Members, Community Clean-up Day on April 20th, Walk at Lunch Day on April 26th, updating website, Facebook and sharing pictures with newspaper. Today was District Music Contest and all 13 entries received superior ratings. Congratulations to these students.

Activities Director Report
Discussion:
There was nothing to report by the Activities Director.

Principal
Discussion:
Principal Gleisberg's report included: current enrollment PK-12 is 181, certified evaluations, spring MAPS and NSCAS assessments, 3rd quarter honor roll and April 11th In-service. Stapleton placed first as a team in Division 2 at MPCC Inter-High Day with Cole Kramer placing 3rd in accounting, Chloe Schaeffer 2nd in Microsoft Office, Tucker Housman 1st in Microsoft Office, Colin Rooney 3rd in chemistry and Kaitlyn Goodrich 3rd in Criminal Justice. Congratulations to these students.

Discussion:
Superintendent Redinger's report presented information on the following: CD's with Community First Bank, student day off for exceeding NHS food day drive, at this time attempts to accommodate Ladybug Crossing Daycare have ceased, new football field bleachers, school improvement meeting with English Language Arts/Reading curriculum review, newly adopted board policies on website, office manager opening/interviews. Takeaways from the NRCSA convention: State testing with MAPS and NSCAS and NDE and the need for increase of teacher candidates.

Discussion regarding the sports cooperative with McPherson County Public Schools.
Discussion:
Discussion was held regarding the sports cooperative with McPherson County Public Schools. A possibility of inviting McPherson County's junior high to participate in art and music in Stapleton during the afternoon and then go into junior high P.E./sports practice after those classes each day which would provide more additional practice time.
