Discussion:
President F. Kramer called the regular meeting of the Stapleton Public Schools Board of Education to order at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2023, in the library at Stapleton Public Schools.

Discussion:
Notice of the meeting was published in the Stapleton Enterprise on Thursday, November 9, 2023, and posted at five local businesses along with notice to the president of the board and all members prior to the meeting date.

Public Comment and Recognition of Visitors
Discussion:
President F. Kramer asked if there was any public comment and referred to the guidelines in the agenda. No one was wishing to speak.

Polly Burnside: Secondary FCS & Elementary Title I.
Discussion:
Polly Burnside, FCS and Title I teacher, addressed the board regarding her curriculum for both positions which are 50 FTE each. Title I helps students that need help in math and reading, but that do not qualify for the special education program. She only has time to do the reading part with the students at this time. For FCS she has a class with the 7th graders, Intro I and II classes, and a food prep class. Polly is busy teaching students life skills that include sewing, cooking, child development, parenting, and personal finance.

Discussion:
The treasurer's report was presented by Superintendent Redinger.

Community Liaison
Discussion:
Bryan Regier gave his Community Liaisons' report which included: Halloween costume dance fundraiser was a success sponsored by junior chamber members, annual elementary Halloween parade, Trunk or Treat downtown, Veterans Day Program, and plans being made for Christmas Around Town.

Activities Director Report
Discussion:
The Activities Director's report given by Jeremiah Johnson included the following: winter sports season beginning with updates on participants, thanks to Gary Halstead for stepping up to coach the junior high wrestlers, official approval of the Co-op, individual conferences with coaches, successful fall sport postseason parent meeting, Co-op sports board meeting November 27, play production conference in Thedford, wrestling tournament hospitality room, Student Council winter sports theme nights for home contests, junior high basketball coaches and being very appreciative for being able to attend AD conference in Kearney.

Principal
Discussion:
7-12 Principal Johnson's report included: ASVAB testing for juniors, honor roll celebration party held by NHS, FFA LDE and Ag demo presentation practices, violations of student tardy policy and struggles to maintain passing grades and trying to rectify, attended Principal's Cadre at ESU 16, staff development day, thanks to Mrs. Isom for scheduling the CPR class during in-service day, acknowledged Mrs. Kulp, Mr. Johnsen, Mrs. Weems and Mr. Karn and all local area substitutes for filling in, and highlighted phenomenal work by kitchen staff - Sandy, Kathy, Pat and Bridget when she fills in - for feeding and taking care of staff and students every day.
PK-6 Principal Isom reported on the following: IEP's/MDTs, MAPS goals, NSCAS results, student progress, parent/teacher conferences with 91% attendance in elementary, CPR training, Principal for a Day with elementary students that are leading in reading points, wonderful Veterans' Day Program and attended the fall dinner with preschool and parents. |

Discussion:
The Negoations Committee met before the regular board meeting with the teachers' association committee and the next meeting with be December 11th.

Discussion:
Superintendent Redinger's report presented information on the following: Superintendent's evaluation and contract renewal, communications with county attorney and MDT team, and possible change of time for graduation.

Discuss and action to approve a change to the High School Graduation time from 11:30am to 5:00pm on Saturday, May 11th.
